JO needs to rebound better. Wolfe hardly played and nearly had the same amount of boards. He likes to score but I still don't yet think he's got the toughness and desire inside. Silas had twice the rebounds and he averaged like 15 mins a game. The competition inside is only going to get tougher. If he couldn't get boards now, what's it going to be like against the Laury's, Brown's, Kemp's, Pankey's of the MAAC? It's August and JO is just 4 games into his college career. I think he's got more to show you. Meanwhile Silas the veteran starter had to be benched. JO is the most physically imposing of them as well. The rebounds will come as he learns positioning in practice. The team needs consistent offense from the 5 this season. Veteran starter? Wasn't last year his first season getting experience? How many minutes did he play in D1? Also, he has only played the game of basketball for a handful of years. I think it's a bit much to slate him as a veteran. He has much to learn and will.

I don't see how you could consider anyone who played last year with OD getting the ball all the time a 'veteran' starter. I know JP has respect for Imoh's work ethic that started the minute JP arrived on campus and he was the only one in the weight room. With proper coaching, Imoh will come along in due time.

The book on JO from what I saw in highlights, online games, and from some other non-Siena fan observers was that he often lacks the motor. It even says it in his ESPN writeup which surprises me cause I don't always agree with them. Weaknesses: Production has not always matched potential here, and while Ogunyemi has a wealth of tools at his disposal he's never had the level of impact you would expect. He needs to refine his low post package, learn to make quicker moves on the block, and further develop his left hands. He could also assert himself more on the glass and defensive end of the floor.
By the numbers, he was probably the worst rebounder of anyone over 6 ft on this trip. I want to see more out of him. Silas does a lot of stupid stuff on the court, but there's no doubt that if he gets his head together nobody on the team will block more shots or get more rebounds. I support the message the coach sent to him yesterday by not starting him. Still, we need him.

And the freshman wasn't the one who got benched.

I just see more potential from JO once that work is complete is all I'm saying.

He also led this team in blocks on the trip, playing less than 19mpg and averaged 3rpg. Not a great number, but certainly not as bad as you claim.

Maybe Imoh isn't used to being the first option down low...... New territory for him.

Wolfe has the furthest to go physically. Siena is going to have a very solid and deep frontcourt in the coming seasons.

When you add in minutes played, Javion's and Lavon's numbers look a little better.

Hockeyguy trolling like no other.
Lavon Long will play 30 minutes a night for this team at the 3.

Hockeyguy trolling like no other. Lavon Long will play 30 minutes a night for this team at the 3. Maurice White will be the 2 and Poole will move back to the 3. From what I've seen so far, there is no 2 on this team that can give Siena what White will give night in and night out. He is also strong and quick enough to play most 3's in the MAAC. JP already knows who will be at the 2 spot. The current guards are place holders for his spot. Long will get time at the 4 and 5 but must avoid foul trouble to stay on the floor.

If we start an all freshmen backcourt and Hymes does not play significant minutes this team will finish under .500.
