Well, if the 4guys confirm it, it must be somewhat official. Don't know what it means for the team this year but at least we have that toughness. Without White or Cole, we certainly weren't physical at the 2G. Even if he's not there offensively yet, he can hopefully still come in and lock down on a guard and get some boards.
He seemed to do well in that video covering one of the Harrison twins, who were both ESPN top 10 this year. I just hope he accepts his role and doesn't try to be a gunner with all the shooters on this team.

I know there are lots of question marks around the SG position, but at least we should expect some healthy competition for minutes at that position from 4-5 players.
Speaking of "healthy": Does anyone know how Oliver's rehab/fitness is at this point in the summer? I'm wondering how much Patsos has even seen of him yet.

I thought this kid was some sort of stud. The list of offers is not exactly impressive: Drexel, Morgan State, NJIT, Robert Morris and UMBC. I take with a grain of salt his coach's claims that Georgetown and Miami were interested. I know Jimmy did the best he could after being hired in April, but this program's recruiting is far from where it was. And this is basically the same team the next couple of years. I hope there's a lot of under the radar guys on this team!

I hope there's a lot of under the radar guys on this team! not sure we follow here............the players brought on by Patsos are far ahead more talented than what we have had the last 3 yrs...............in fact, many of them were going to Loyola MD, which would have continued their success from the last 2 yrs. and kept the GreyHounds battling for the title over the next few yrs............................now if you want to say none compare to Ubiles, Franklin, Moore, Hasbrouck...well you might have a point there, but then again, none of those were projected to be as FANTASTIC as they turned out (although Ubiles was considered a real difference maker, the others were not)....................the upgrade in talent to this point, and under the circumstances with less time to work with, pretty darn good bordering on terrific..............wait and see how things develop before feeling unimpressed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Easy there. I wouldn't say they are that much more talented. They haven't played a game yet.
Jimmy tends to recruit athletic types who get to the rim. He doesn't have a great history of recruiting shooters. Loyola largely depended on one shooter (Olsen) and when he had a bad year they shot sub 30%. All the guys he's brought in so far seem to fit this category.
Mitch left him some shooters so it should be alright, for now at least.
A guy like Taplin also seems to fit the athletic non-shooter mold.
Ideally you need to get a good mix of both.

Old Maurice White Article - with coach quotesHe seems to already have the mentality that you want from an incoming freshman. He knows he needs to earn his minutes, and isn't being given anything. Should Cole not be granted his waiver, I expect to see White earn minutes and contribute this upcoming season.

White hopefully fills a huge void at 2G-- we really had no viable defensive options there. I think Jimmy can now play Hymes at the two—and if he is getting lit up defensively bring in White- who looks like he can be a defensive stopper. As for the incoming talent- its a huge upgrade- the PW was basically recruiting on the AE/NEC level

Looking at White's offers as well as most of the other new recruits, how do you figure JP is recruiting at a higher level than Mitch was? The only incoming recruit with a high-major offer is a Mitch recruit (JO). Long by far has the only impressive offer list of Jimmy's guys.

White had an offer from Drexel— and I’m sure his problems qualifying kept interest down. White really intrigues me he has a college ready body. Patrick Cole is a proven D1 double digit scorer. Wolfe has a big upside, Long and Wright- have the look of future ALL MAAC players-- something the PW could never do- to this point not a single player he recruited has made any of the ALL MAAC teams All in all I like the class- doubly so since Jimmy wasn’t hired till April… and don’t forget Wright and Lavon verbaled early to Jimmy.. both players had heavy interest when Jimmy announced he going to Siena

Tony beat me to it. With obvious rare exceptions, schools don't spend their limited time and recruiting budgets on kids who look like they won't qualify. Jimmy's first class at Siena looks to be good enough to compete for MAAC championships and at this point that's all we have.... See, that's kind of my concern. You're wrong, basically. The clearinghouse does what they want. Siena admitted Silas and Gomis , too, remember? White MAY make it, but to say "I don't think it will be a problem" is crazy.
