Leaving semantics aside, JP has said he is looking for a plying group of 8-9. Assuming Cole does not get the waiver, which still had not been applied for as of earlier in the week, and barring injuries, I think it will be Hymes, Wright, Poole, Silas, Bisping, Long, Ogunyemi and White, with Wolfe making it 9 assuming he does not redshirt. I foresee Audu, Oliver and Hopper on the outside looking in. Wolfe is very talented, but will be much better in his fifth year than in his first because of the additional physical maturity which will occur. Notwithstanding that, he can definitely help the team this year, IMHO.

I think Oliver has a shot and all Hopper has to do is bring that size and make himself valuable...one thing for sure from what I see everyone will get an opportunity

Expect him to be in the rotation if healthy all season.

I worry Oliver ends up like Kyle Griffin where the operations just take away his mobility and ability to defend at this level. Seems like a great kid who you just have to root for - and a natty dresser too.

Hopper doesn't have a role on this team. Even as a shooter, Bisping and maybe even Wolfe are better. Plus, they're both bigger, quicker, and more versatile.
Oliver or Audu are not in the same boat. Oliver could easily work his way in. Audu possibly as well. Audu shot over 93% from the FT line last year. His shot may look a little goofy but maybe he's got more shooting upside too. He did shoot almost 33%. We don't yet know what White will look like in a college game. He looks tough and a good defender but he has no experience at this level either and we have no idea what his offensive game will look like. It's too soon to really differentiate him from these other two.
Oliver, at this point, is the most controlled, has experience, and he has a recorded history of very high percentage shooting. So maybe he's the better option at SG behind Hymes right now. We'll see.
Honestly, one of the bigs besides Hopper probably isn't going to see too much time this year unless there's an injury. 1 of the 3 SG's will be really needed and the other two will be role players unless there's an injury. Long is the worst thing for all of these guys PT because he's probably our most versatile and he can take time from everyone. In a tight game, he's out there playing D.

Oliver shot 29% from 3 last year-- I do agree he is capable of doing better than that..just saying Poole shot just 27% as a frosh too. Really weird. Although, Ryan didn't play all that much. 42% in HS & prep though. Even half way between puts you in the leagues top 15 shooters. We have at least 4 guys who have that smooth stroke capable of 40%+. I know Iona shoots great but after Armand, we don't know how consistent Bowman, English, and Williams will be although they all shot 40% at their levels last year. If things break well for us, our 3 pt % could be right up there. We could be kind of Canisius-esque of last year if these guys suddenly start shooting closer to their highschool percentages. Not many other teams have that shooting upside this year.

If Brett Bisping improves his shooting at the same rate from freshman to sophomore year that Burdine and Poole did, he's gonna shoot over 50% from three this year. I could be happy with that.

He was knocking them down when I saw him then got the machine out and shot after practice ...Hymes joined him

There might not have been a player on the roster misused more than he was last year. He needs to get a lot more shots. There were so many times he'd play like 20 mins and get 1 or 2 shots, total. You don't put this kid in for his defense.

Not all that unusual for a freshmen big man- who at the MM level usually take a year or two to develop. From what I hear he looks much better this year

From what I hear he looks much better this year Bisping put on some good mass and now comes in over 230 lbs. I betcha he'll be tougher with the added strength. If he can shoot as well as KK hopes, he's a tough matchup at the 4.
