Maybe you should read what YOU wrote. You didn't say Silas was a center who's almost a PF. You said that about Ogunyemi, who nobody else has ever called a center. You started this by saying Siena has 2 centers, then using the official roster to back yourself because they list Silas as a center. And you didn't answer the question about actually watching Ogunyemi, probably because you never have. So what I'm hearing is that you disagree. What I'm hearing is that you don't actually watch basketball.

Maybe this thread should be moved to the Semantics board... Maybe you should look up semantics. LOL. There are clear cut positions in basketball, whether your players fit them or not. That is not semantics, it's a fact.

So what I'm hearing is that you disagree. What I'm hearing is that you don't actually watch basketball. No, I don't live in Troy. No, I don't attend your local HS games in person. I've said this numerous times. There are full games online which I've watched, yes. Between the highlights, news stories, PPC's videos and that I've seen enough to get an idea of his game. I also think that Albany locals have a natural tendency to exaggerate the talent levels of local players much like we might naturally overestimate Siena. I watch every single Siena game whether in person or not. I watch many other MAAC games as well. You can disagree with my assessment all you want but don't make this into a personal thing. I'm just on these boards to talk basketball and make jokes. I welcome the differing opinion. However, until I see something out of him other than I've seen I will think of him as a center. PPC or someone else watching practices can confirm but it sounds like that's how Jimmy is also using him. He seems to be most comfortable around the basket.

KK knows his shit. Pretty much one of the only people whose opinion I really listen too even if I disagree. He is right far more often then he is wrong.

You considering him a center isn't really an issue. You asserting that he IS a center is different. And just a few weeks ago Jimmy said Javion was the starting PF. That changed recently, but that's what he said. And I for one didn't exaggerate his talent level, I said he is a PF. I didn't say he was good or bad. I didn't make it personal, I have simply responded to your posts, and the posts of others.

I didn't think it was best for the team chemistry and I didn't think he was ready for that role. At the time, I said that we needed Long, Bisping, or Wolfe there if we wanted to press and defend on defense and spread the floor on offense. Long is my preference there overall with this mix of guys because I want to run and press but I've long debated that we needed to mix in the shooters and Bisping needs to be a big part of the rotation mainly cause Wright and Long, and Silas in the same lineup could have trouble spreading the floor. Wolfe would also provide an element of versatile athleticism that JO lacks. I also said that I thought that once Jimmy saw more of Bisping, JO and the rest of this team I thought he'd change his mind. I was even the first to suggest that he strongly consider a 2 PG lineup with this crew even though it was unpopular. He has now publicly done both. Other than that, I really don't know what you want me to say.

Patsos is figuring it out as he goes and the 5 games coming up will answer alot of questions ... He has options to work with and playing under the whistle is a great way to figure it all out...I Believe he is here now
Top 7 Wright Hymes Poole Bisping Silas Long & Javion
I Believe this lineup is about starting the returners...and wanting to instill confidence in Wright as a pg...I also believe from watching the first practice that Hymes is the most confident offensive player on the team and Patsos likes that in his 2G....On several occasions Poole was told to stop passing up shots and be more aggressive.....so day 2 Poole played mostly the 3 vs Lavon....Hymes did not look as good at the 1 vs Wright on day 2 but they looked good together on day 1 with Wright running the show and Hymes looking for his.....
as for the bigs we have
Hopper 6'7 Wolfe 6'8 Silas 6'8 Javion 6'8 Bisping 6'8 I think we can all agree that none of these guys will play the 3 and I agree that they are all forwards...their versatility makes Siena a team that can have very fast lineups or Big and efficient lineups....the labels are not important ...you look at the bodies and find a way to fit their talents together

That's not the same as saying he's a center. Jimmy has named about 5 different lineups already, don't be so sure "yours" is what he settles on. I respect everyone's opinion, if it is stated as such.

For the growth of the program and the players, you need to build a team and put the players in their natural positions. Lavon is a guard. Silas and Ogunyemi are forwards. They may play center on this team, but for the team and individuals, the coach needs to recruit true centers and PF's , so these players can move to their natural positions.

There are so many ncaa teams playing w/ various combos of fwds and guards and no centers these days. With the right coach talent and system you dont necessarily need a true 5.

You can play without a center at times, but can you name 1 good team without a center on their roster? That was my point. And unless I misunderstood, PPC agreed with me, Siena's bigs are all forwards.

You guys are arguing over semantics – who cares what you call them. Siena has won NCAA games with 6’7 Duell at Center . The good news is the freshmen have looked good—and the really good news from my POV is Bisping looks as to have really improved. It’s looking like we are going to have a fun team to watch this year , we should be very versatile with many combinations , we will run and press

Siena won 1 NCAA game with Duell starting and had average to above average size in the rest of the starting 5 and on the bench. Nobody said it can't be done, but if that 1 example is what you want to hang your hopes on, that's rough.
