You can't teach height. I expect Harris to improve. Not only cant you teach height you cant teach athleticism like Gary has. He became much more disciplined in his shot selection as year went on. Cant wait to see his work ethic and see how Gary( no check that) actually all 3 freshmen improve. I really like Kyle and am very bullish on his career at Siena-- freshmen bigs almost always take a year or two to improve, as Kyle gets stronger and more comfortable on floor he will be a big asset for this program going forward-- as for Manny going from 48.6 to 48%-- that's laughable-- he shot the ball 140 times last year and doubled that to 281 times this year. He wasn't a liability at foul line and helped spread the floor since you had to guard him at 3 point line. Last year teams begged him to shoot the 3,Seriously KK his shooting ability increased exponentially and was major factor in his improvement ultimately resulting in a 1st team ALL MAAC selection

However, he didn't really add anything new to his game. Disagree. I think Manny really improved his shooting. His 3 pt shooting became a legit weapon opponents had to deal with this year. Last year, teams begged him to shoot a 3. He also improved his FT % by more than 13 points. This summer I hope he works on his handle to become an even more dangerous player.

If Harris redshirts it'll be at another school, not 3000 miles from home. Hes the best athlete in the league. He needs to work on his shooting and general basketball knowledge which might be hours and hours with a coach and a DVR.
Kids ceiling is 10 stories up.

I got 3 that deserve a shout out;
1. Manny just me impressed with his steady effort. He averaged a double/double. Kid’s a force and plays with a ton of heart. 2. Jordon was an undersized walk-on coming in, I didn’t know what to expect. He’s actually a very good on ball defender, was very good overall defensively, he improved his shot as the season progressed and brought a lot of energy. 3. Sammy got knocked early on but in hindsight I don’t think he was 100% to start. He really came on down the stretch and was invaluable during our second half run.

Look, to me, what Manny improved on most was simply his aggressiveness and volume in doing that which he was already good at.
I see mostly more volume and effort than I do coming up with some new skill. I think Manny was just being Manny....but more often so.
Nothing he did surprised me all that much skillset wise as much as did the quantity of times of which he did them.
Swiping an extra 2 boards a game from what I expected Burns to get would probably be the biggest surprise. Other than that, I just didn't think he'd be needed to score as much as he was needed. I think that was partly a function of the slow start of the bench and it just snowballed.
The kid then simply seemed to revert more back to the game that he had in HS. I think that was LARGELY a function of being set free by ATTACK AND FINISH as opposed to being imprisoned by GUN AND RETREAT.

The kid only made 15 3's all year so 'weapon' is pushing it a bit. In his available stats from HS he was a 29% 3pt shooter and 63% FT shooter. 33% and 65% is an improvement but not ALL that much. He was 70% from the line for the stretch of games his senior year on maxpreps. I think he was just more comfortable in Carm's system and without JC trying to 'F' with his shot release. He went back to HS Manny and owned it.

No one is going to pass Harris on the depth chart unless the Saints somehow sign a McDonald's All American that plays the 3. High Major type athlete who is still finding his way. Give him the entire off season to work on his game and improve his strength. They ran one play a game for him this year. Interested to see what they'll do as his game matures.

Sorry teams had to guard Manny out at 3 point line, if left open he could knock down the 3-- something he couldn't do last year, in fact teams would beg him to shoot last year. By having ability to hit shots from out there it helped spread the floor and made the entire Siena team that much more efficient in offense. As for players going by Harris-- well all I can say is good luck with that. It would mean we signed a really good player- it wasn't coincidence that Siena started dominating the MAAC after Gary was inserted into starting lineup- again he gave Siena an added dimension-- not something easy to quantify with stats. Gary has some holes in his game, but he was improving almost by the game as season went on, a off season of working on his game- - Kid is a freshmen, if Gary works on his game as hard as he plays I'm confident we will see a nice jump next year. as one prominent poster said his upside is tens stories high. Very hard to go by a player at mid major level- especially a player with upside Gary has

Let's say you had a 6-4+ athletic guy who shoots 45/35/80 with a positive assist ratio and averaged double digits with a 1.30 PPS. Would he be ahead of Harris on the depth chart? I only mention this because, well, I think that's potentially what we have in Aidan Carpenter. Next year's MAAC rookies are probably going to put this year's MAAC rookies to shame and I think Carpenter could be at or near the head of that charge. Once Carpenter starts playing, it could be a whole new ballgame on this team. Harris may be the best athlete in the league...but he'll have to start producing more to keep his status...and that's a fact.

You know who can both do a 360 dunk AND play some PG.

In Harris' 15 starts, he averaged 23 minutes and Siena went 13-2. At the end of the day, wins and loses the only stat that matters.

A reasoned opinion is Gary Harris will have to produce more to remain a starter. I think it will happen, but I hope this helps.

Not a player but, Carm's adjustment to the first chair was seamless and I love how so many of the Saints developed and improved as the season progressed. This team was fun to watch and was peaking in March. I hoped Carm was up to the task but never expected this!

Early guess on starters next year:
PG: Pickett Jr SG: Carey (RS Jr) SF: Harris So PF: Camper Sr C: Tate (RS Jr) (if eligible day one)
Now we're adding Carpenter, Golson and BK in addition to Tate. Plus King and Young off the bench. And whatever additions we add. So the competition will be fierce.
Siena will have more athleticism, size, experience and depth.

This guy (see 24 sec mark): You got a lot to learn son, Carpenter will be another bullet in the chamber of the revolver that Carm is pointing at rest of MAAC, Aidan will be part of rotation ,in fact heard if he was eligible he would have been in rotation this year. But talk is cheap lets see him on the court before will put him ahead of anyone ( remember Luke Sutherland)
