Come on, anyone can focus on a handful of games and find the exceptions. Most televised games over the years normally resulted in fewer fouls called compared to non-televised games (excluding tournament type games); at least for the bigger conferences. You're right. I just happened to have watched that game earlier today, so it was a funny reference for me. Side note, did anyone actually watch that Cuse/UVA game? I don't have ACCN so I didn't, but I was curious if it was as bad as the box score implied. I watched the game and it was ugly. Syracuse’s offense consisted of Hughes and boeheim jacking lots of 3’s. Cuse was slightly better with girard at the point, looked like a bottom of the acc team.

Definitely take Siena. I can’t see any team beating Siena by 20, this year. 3 seniors and 2 juniors in the starting line up doesnt bode well against a Siena team that starts 2 sophomores and a freshman in the backcourt. I fear it will be a long night for the saints.

Xavier coach has Siena scouted well, he knows Jalen, Don and Elijah. I just hope Saints can acquit themselves well. Freshmen almost always play better at home than on road, should be a good learning experience for team. Other than Elijah and Hein this is a very young team- Xavier has talented veteran lineup playing at home in front of 10K. If Siena can beat spread I'd be very happy! If team has jitters game will get away very quickly

I think Elijah and Jalen will not have jitters. I also feel Manny plays the game and where it's played has little effect. Remember that Friday had his best game under these similar conditions. So there's hope.

We all know and have discussed Jalen, Don, Elijah and Manny but this is a game where 2 of the freshmen could be very important. Harris can definitely compete from an athletic standpoint and Young can bang and eat space in the paint. Both of these are likely going to be needed for the Saints to be in the game in the closing minutes.

No matter what happens tonight, game will be good learning experience for team. Xavier should be best team we face all year, unless we go to NCAA's

Defense and bench are still question marks. You have young guys (Sutherland, King & Harris) on the road for the first time under the bright lights. I wouldn’t touch this game with a 20 pt line. We could cover or just as easily get buried.
Looking forward to watching. It’s always nice to use this game as a measuring stick but remember it’s only game two.
I’d like this matchup better if it was a 13 vs 4 in the tournament 😉 by then we’d have a full season under our belts.

Yes this is my point exactly- not that we have no hope at all, but that we face immense challenges here, especially considering we need to count on some brand new rookies. Discussing the game as if it is a "winnable" matchup probably isn't realistic. I think we should look for successes where we can- ie covering the 20 point spread. I'll happily eat my words if the team surprises me, but I expect to see them overmatched at this point in the season. I'll take this matchup in March with a season under our belts though!

I just hope when Siena gets up in Xavier we don’t let them back into the game (like we almost did with American) but I guess I’ll still be satisfied with a one point Siena victory.

If we can stay out of foul trouble (big if) I think it could get interesting tonight. Should be fun to watch.
