Didn't the times union say siena had no scholarships available for next year regarding king? This article states there are two lol. Word is a transfer may be accepted very soon that was being held so it may be open but has been encumbered by Carm for the transfer

"I just felt like I was most comfortable here and I had everything I needed here -- great coaches, great teammates, everything," Seymour said in April. "That's pretty much it."
That is what Seymour said in April about his decision to stay after JC left. So what changed in 3 months? Neither him nor his family are talking , ignoring multiple requests for media interviews. So something's up. Pickett's Twitter response was simply" slime ball". That can't be good. I thought those two were pretty tight. It would appear Seymour's relationship with his teammates and/or coaches went south recently. Even if Sutherland or Harris were doing better than him, a decision on him being replaced as a starter wouldn't have been decided in July. So it wasn't because he was told he's headed to the bench.

Oh my god. The message from Pickett started with a emoji that is generally used to indicate sadness. “Slime” is a term of endearment among today’s youth meaning something cool/my man/homie/etc. Calling him a “slime ball” in this context was more endearing. There was no falling out. The team likes Sloan, Sloan likes the team. They were just headed in different directions. Jamion was the favorite coach he ever had and probably would have left in the first place if Jalen hadn’t stayed. Jalen staying probably pressured him into sticking around and running it back. Singelais really poisoned a lot of people by being a complete dumbass about urban slang.

When the King thread started, I was wondering if the no available ships was because they gave one to Denzel (because his bio no longer listed him as a walk-on). Unless it never listed him as a walk-on last year either.

You know your old when the meaning of words change and no one told us (me). Don’t worry, it was worded funny. Calling someone a slime ball is still not normally endearing, but the “slime” part is something I have seen Jalen use before, and combined with the emoji, the context very much indicates a more endearing message.

Meant something totally different for us Gen Xers.

Don’t be surprised if Denzel steals minutes from Sammy. Heard he’s playing very well and is a monster defensively. I think the Clev St kid gets a scholarship. On Sloan, don’t minimize his relationship with George’s (best friend) who is clearly getting pushed out and more than likely won’t be here next year.

In all seriousness (and not to imply Sloan won’t end up at another school) but what if a player enters the transfer portal and no one wants him? Does he then request to come back to original school? Does the original school have to take him back? I’m assuming yes he could come back if the school wanted him & hadn’t already used his ship on someone else but I’d sort of love it if a bunch of players entered looking for better places to play only to find out no one wants them them they have to go lower than they ever imagined and still aren’t happy. Not that I want this to happen to Sloan but I just get tired of all these players wanting to move after 1 or 2 seasons (for what ever the reasons - legitimate or not). I liked it better when players stayed for all four years just like I liked it better in professional sports when the team stayed intact mostly for many years (even when my teams sucked). I agree ... I get that times have changed but it doesn't make it right. Everything is me, me, me, now, now, now.... no loyalty, limited values. Not picking on Sloan, everybody does it, it's just the way it is... yada yada yada. When I was a kid I had no idea how much pro players got paid or that the “Owners” controlled players’ movements (trades); all I cared about was rooting for my team and wanting all the same players to stay. I’m not saying that I don’t want to go back to that way (players having no control) but I did prefer players staying on my favorite teams for long periods. Now it seems like pro players (at least in basketball) seem to plot/conspire/recruit each other to a certain team that they want to go to. That’s good for the players but not necessarily the fans of the teams they’re leaving.

Kid is athletic. Not surprised he can kick up the D a notch.

With his height & athleticism I’m hoping many of his finishes will be thunderous dunks, but a light touch layup won’t be bad either.

I’d wager that the % of shots he had blocked was more than any other Saint last year...and it doesn’t make sense for someone with his tools.

That’s why I hoping for more dunks “over” his defenders to make them think twice about getting in his way. Sort of like how Alex used to dunk on players or even Manny towards the end of the season (only Denzel will only need to take one or two steps from inside the post to dunk it aggressively as opposed to driving the lane to get there).

Word is a transfer may be accepted very soon that was being held so it may be open but has been encumbered by Carm for the transfer That’s what I was thinking about the no more ships available this year for King (Siena promised it to someone else that hasn’t been announced yet). When the King thread started, I was wondering if the no available ships was because they gave one to Denzel (because his bio no longer listed him as a walk-on). Unless it never listed him as a walk-on last year either. You might as well give it to King now and not add yet another new player. Let King and Dunn complete this class. Otherwise they will only have to 2 left for 2020 which is shaping up to be a key recruiting class for Carm. He has to knock it out of the park with his first full recruiting class (some of the 2019 class is JC's recruits). Speaking of which, if they land Dunn, that will be 8 new players playing for the first time this season - half of which would be transfers. That's got to be a record - and is a little too Iona-like for my tastes. I prefer consistent, stable rosters of mostly 4 year players. But with 3 coaches in 3 years I guess it was unavoidable. This program has undergone unprecedented turmoil. It's amazing it's considered a contender given that fact.

It’s just a transfer, not a pact with the devil. This is the new age. Iona is kicking our butts. Maybe now with more transfers, we start to kick back a bit.
