I should point out Siena was down 18 points when Evan went out with 16:12 to go-- he came back twice in regulation for a min stint at a time ( and did something stupid, bad shot or turnover) and JC took him out- so we basically outscored Quinny by quite a bit when Evan was not on the floor. I certainly dont want to pile on the kid, but he absolutely killed us yesterday. I haven't seen the plus minus for yesterday's game, but I think Evan's was horrible Fisher is inside his own head right now. Over the last 3 games he's 17-51 from the field(33%). I will say though near the end of regulation and in OT when Fisher was out there he wasn't looking to force anything. Hopefully he can get his mind cleared because after yesterday SPU will at least be double teaming Jalen I noticed the same behavior from Fisher late - I think the little time he got when reinserted during regulation and the quick yank might have emphasized the messages he might have been getting from staff while on the bench. At one point in the OT he made a move towards the lane that looked like he was going to force things and instead he passed out of it - clearly was thinking then rather than trying to take over - we have more demonstrated options now and hopefully he gets back into the flow...

Bad news: We lost two very winnable games (Iona I think we gave it away, Quinny just couldn't finish the comeback). Probably not going to be in the top 3.
Good news: We are way ahead of schedule, we have four games coming up with a good chance to go 3-1 and finish the regular season with an overall winning record. We will be home for the conference tournament (I know our record at home isn't good but in a one and done situation you never know in a crazy league).

Although the team is tied for 5th they are only 1 game out of first which is completely absurd. Need to win the next 2 home games and shoot for at least 1 on the buffalo trip if not both

I agree nothing is off the table... Siena could finish 1 or 8... look at the standings don't remember something like this in all my year's following the MAAC (and we've had some whacky standings like the Sean Brennan fuzzy math)
If you don't finish in the top 2... not a whole lot of different between 3-4-5 it could come down to match-ups... I'd rather avoid Quinny until the finals if I could.

um, Degnan might not be smooth or quick, but he does a good of job defending in most cases......he gets a ton of steals & deflections, besides Camper is our best rebounder on the defensive glass...……………………..that matchup vs Young was not good and not sure why he got extended minutes in that role, I think that would be a good question to ask JC, fair & questionable to say the least so that would be a criticism on our coach for sure...………….. If anyone says Degnan doesn’t play D, they just aren’t watching.....he actually defends pretty well! On Young of course not....that’s a mismatch. Coach was trying to bother him with size but he’s way too tough and quick for a 4 to stay with! Hell most guards struggle to defend him. . The fouls on camper did us in. If he didnt get those fouls I’m sure coach would have let him guard him more, and it started with denying young the ball. Maybe he could have used Smithen more but it was obvious that Degnan could not do what was required.

Camper is quietly an awesome player. His PPS is 1.45 in conference even though he can't make 3's and is bad at FT's, plus he's the best rebounder who doesn't play center in the entire league. He's excellent defensively as well. If he became even a 30% 3-point shooter and a 65% FT shooter, even without taking more shots or FT's he'd be a 1.68 PPS guy in MAAC play. That's massive.

He's having a terrific year. We really missed him when he was hurt and when he fouled out vs. Quinnipiac. He's basically a freshman this year too as he barely played last year. Pickett, Carey, Camper, Burns I think are your four lock starters for next year. We'll see who rounds out the line-up but I think Manny has earned a spot.

I thought that there was not much of an effect to fight through screens rather than to simply switch defensive assignments. I think that as much as defensive assignments resulted in Kevin trying to guard Toung or Kelly.

One more thing on the last play in double OT... Jalen had Kadeem wide open for a 3 on his right. Don't know if he saw him but Kadeem was ready to take it for the win. It would've been a lot better look than the one we took.

It would've been a lot better look than the one we took. Shocked we waited so long to go to the basket and disappointed we didn’t call a TO to set up a play or set the high pick and roll with Manny. I knew once it went into the 3rd OT, we were in trouble.

I was not at the game nor did I watch it on TV, but man, that was an epic regular season game seeing the box score. While looking at the box score, I wondered what in the world was happening to Evan. I hope he clears his head, we need him for the last four games. Great to heard the TOs were low, but need to rebound! Next: vs. St. Peters, Tuesday February 19th, 7 pm (ESPN+) sports.yahoo.com/quinnipiacs-cameron-young-scores-points-d-game-since-2008-161928035.html
