As an fyi against Niagara they clearly had an intent to look for their shot if it presented itself much earlier in the shot clock and push the ball up the floor at a better pace than they had been doing ...even if it was not going all the way to the hoop.....and hmmm...lets see...I think they did pretty well at it.
It was certainly more entertaining.
We could have easily scored 70(+) points in that game if we kept being aggressive until the end but I get it, coach was trying to get the win at the end so he slowed it down. No problem there.
I am not talking about trying to aimlessly run people.
I am saying to not put on the brakes every single possesion even when you have numbers or opportunities to push the pace and never looking for your shot on a more consistent basis until you are under 10 on the shot clock.
They have done this on q number of possesions and games as a whole throughout the season.
I think many of you are shortchanging these players just because truthfully so; I 100% qgree that they are not an athletic team as a whole when compared to other D-1 teams.
I think that is pretty obvious.
But you dont have to simply be great athletes as a whole to score points....if you have a complete basketball player and athlete like we do with Pickett, an athlete like Camper, some shifty players like Fisher and Darwiche who seem to know how to score, and some shooters like Seymour and Degnan around him....including a lot of size all throughout the line up.
I say keep doing what we did against Niagara and see what happens and hope for the best.
Go Saints!

I will say the games have been competitive and close due to a super slowed down version of Mayhem and Pickett is a potential great. As for enjoyable to watch I will respectfully disagree. It's painful to watch at times except for a barrage of threes made in runs. And then suffering through 5-7 minutes of not scoring. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, nothing I've seen so far has been a thing of beauty but there is always next year. Too painful? OK - Have a nice summer.

Some say the pace of the game is so boring that we will not get good crowds. I don't know what the weather is up there, but from what I hear we will be in the 7000 range. Not too shabby.

I can see how the casual fan or better a fan of Siena but where Siena’s not their ultimate favorite team may find some of the play during Siena’s game not very exciting. But, for me (where Siena’s my ultimate favorite team) I’m enjoying this season over the past couple because we’re winning and the players look to actually be improving as the season goes on. So for me that shows team growth and with my lottery dollar and a dream mentality I’m seeing how this team could go far in MAAC Tournament this season and that just jacks me up with excitement even more. PS: most people can agree that Fran’s teams were fun to watch but if you go back and research all the box scores play by play you’ll find several instances of his teams not scoring for 5+ mins too. I didn’t care then and don’t care now as long as they find a way to win the game. Temple fans didn’t mind winning games in the 50’s as long as they win.

I may be wrong here - but I think it is a 30 second clock Sienafan, maybe you have been watching too many HS games! AMEN, all good points. I have ni respect for playing a methodical, slow down game no matter what the talent level. This style just exacerbates poor shooting and defense. ALSO, this league really stinks this year and is at a low not seen in over a decade. Missed the A10 boat with Fran. No excuse, this league is laim.

Dude, I was poking fun at SienaFanAllYearLong2, since he was the one who started this thread complaining about pace. I was quoting his post saying he was happy with the effort, joking that 67 points wouldn’t be enough to bring the fans back. Perhaps my dry sense of humor doesn’t come across well online. Whatever. Of course the fans will come if we win. It s cool. Took it out of context. General agree with your posts, peace Siena fans are awesome and resilient. Watching some bad hoops for years now in this league that, compared to other leagues, is getting less talent and worse by the year. We missed the A10 boat years ago with Fran. Ni excuse given our town, arena, and attendance.
