His FIBA stats don't indicate that he's much of a passer.

I hope he works out. Our international recruits have never worked out too great but we are due for another Dwight Walton or Prosper

Don't know much about him...could be a contributor or JC's JG Braga. We'll see.

Could have another addition for one year too. Like it. Get the ship back at season's end so JC will have 3 to use in the fall!

He has good ball handling skills and is sneaky fast. Very quick and decisive. He also is not a stand and shoot like some of the other internationals we've had. He also seems to see the floor well. I know they are only showing the good stuff but he is athletic.

the more i see.. the more i like this pickup... A LOT Quick with the ball, quick release. He will ultimately be judged mostly on his ability to take care of the ball, create for others, and play defense. A Zavier Turner/Evan Hymes type could be useful but I would prefer, at 6 ft, if he was a true PG...which I'm not sure he is. Add that to the fact that he's coming from Romania, he's bringing some inherent risk with him. Again, if he can't be a true PG or defend, he becomes another role type player...this is what my concern is.

Bayer is a great late pick up to get immediate help for this weak roster, but then his scholly is open immediately.
Know nothing about the foreign kid, but have to admit I'm disappointed. Feel like he was the just the first one to say "yes," and we got him. With all the kids that visited, and offered, we end up with a kid that never saw the campus. I know how this would be perceived 12 months ago out here.
I guess we'll wait and see and hope for the best.

If Darwiche proves to be Siena's version of Rich Kelly of Quinny or Fairfield's Aidas K....then ok.
We will have to see.

Love the tight handle and downhill attacking style. In an offense that will rely on multiple ballhandlers, I can see the upside here, with the understanding that it's a bit of a flyer.
I'll remain cautiously optimistic. Welcome to the fam, Georges!
