Since this appears to be wide open unlike what we thought a few days ago. Vote on who YOU would hire as head coach of Siena basketball from the names being thrown around.

Whoever the search and interviews has/or will indicate is the guy for the job. Griffin, Deane, Hewitt, McCaffrey were all different in personality and approach and all were successful at Siena. The keys are recruiting, truly leading a well run program, developing players and making the right in-game adjustments. Pick the candidate who is a good person with these characteristics and you'll have a winner at Siena. Note: I know this is over simplified and there are other important aspects but these are key.

I'd take Beilein over Becker. Coach Becker would be a solid, low risk, known reward kind of coach, assurance of winning teams and top 3 every season. Also a good chance that he'd be here for a long period of time, maybe the remainder of his career.
Beilein wouldn't be here forever, but a 3-year great run (like Hewitt's) might be sufficient to restore the program to the right place and make the job a magnet (again) for up-and-coming coaches. Pressure would be on again to have the continuity we've lacked in the past, but I think we all agree that a solid AD would mitigate that risk.
IF--a big if--Pitino were to come here, I think it should be with iron-clad assurances of good behavior and staying in place for 5 years. I really believe that he's seeking redemption, and what better place than a Franciscan school that can provide some spiritual healing? I would give him the chance if we had those assurances. Obviously, having Pitino here would bring the program to the big leagues, A-10 or maybe Big East levels, that we could only dream of otherwise.
We're in a great position. Enjoy this, fellow fans. It's been a long time coming.
GO SAINTS!!

Nice to have choices...
Becker proven winner, coach and recruiter could he be our version of Bob McKillop? Moll, Timberlake and maybe Lamb make a move with him? Instant boost for a weak roster. Safest choice?
Beilein following similar path as his Dad only at much quicker pace. How well would he recruit at this level? Good family. Lacks D1 experience. Still a solid choice.
Caputo appears on many top 10 lead assistants lists due a headcoaching position, northeast guy. Some risk but a solid option.
Pitino would win and pack the house. How likely is it the College makes a move in this direction given Pitino’s problems and after dumping Jimmy for issues unbecoming to the Franciscan tradition? GMac the guy I'm least interested in of the bunch, don’t think Syracuse has recruited very well over the past 4 years or so....JBs coaching tree is so so... the top 3 above are just better options.

Someone brought this up on maac board. How about Padgett? He said he wanted the right job, not just the first to offer. Siena has some advantages and opportunity to advance to higher conference job in future. Becker if interested is the no doubter though. Please hire Beilein or pecora.

He’s been recruiting the same kids Siena has, beat Siena out on EVERY ONE built a winning tradition without drama or scandal. He by all accounts would add some stability and knows what it takes to win conference championships year after year. If he’s really interested Siena needs to take a good look at him. Oh Tobin Anderson’s name should be on MTS’ list too.

Wait...how is Becker even on this list and what makes people think that he'd stay here for a long period of time?
The guy is one great season away from a BCS job as it is.
And wouldn't hiring Pitino just be one giant advertisement of Siena's hypocrisy after firing Jimmy 'for cause'? Criticisms of Siena would all be justified immediately.

If Siena can double his salary - he'd take it. Vermont has never put a coach in the BCS. Lonergan went to GW. Becker might think this is his best option if he wants to move up. Much more realistic than Pitino - Siena should at least reach out. And technically Siena did not find any evidence to fire JP for cause - he resigned

Just not sure we could get him.

Sorry I don’t see Becker as anymore of risk then Caputo or Beilein as far as leaving. All could use this job as a stepping stone. In fact Becker’s been at UVM 7 years, he might be the most stable of the group. Hell maybe he would / could be our version of Bob McKillop? Add that he’s an excellent/proven recruiter and coach and could bring Moll, Timberlake and who knows who else ..... it gets attractive pretty quickly!
