Should he be the 17th head coach in Siena men's basketball history?

I'm not all in but its not a bad choice. Hard question to answer as written, without knowing how the search went down and who else was considered/interviewed. Taking the past decisions into consideration I'm not knocked over with confidence.

OMG, MTS, give it a rest - we've just gone through a very stressful stretch and we need a break from any negativity, at least for awhile. Rest assured, we have zero input on the next decision so let's keep the balance and have zero input on the one possible that we've been maintaining our sanity thinking about over the last two weeks. Siena release said they were beginning a national search - let's wait and see what transpires...

Good D2 coach, good pedigree, but like MP let’s go through a legitimate search unlike the Pastos debacle.

If PH came in to conduct a quiet search that lead to a few equally quiet interviews by the RIGHT people and PB is their choice I'm in. Otherwise, a real search needs to take place asap.

PB of course has his upsides, but young and inexperienced. However if a new AD was hired, one that has maturity, experience, who can mold and mentor PB quite a different story. As Nola says do a national search

I can get behind Beilein if it’s been predetermined BUT my top choice is Chris Caputo if it’s still open!

If this hasn’t already been decided have patience with the process. A good coach will win period; maybe not next year but the year after. Better to make sure you get the best possible coach without worrying about who is suiting up next year.

From what I've seen Welch will be heading to St. Bonaventure and Timberlake still hasn't officially decided. I would be more concerned with getting the right head coach and assistants lined up at this point then worry about recruits
