You know I appreciate that fact that Jimmy has worked so hard on this class. And yeah I know you can’t change the past. But it does beg the question of where this level of effort was the last 5 years No question he put too much faith in his assistants, and that's on him. Having really good assistants is the first step in recruiting well. So what's the word on the staff for next year? Some change has to be coming you would think, right?

The shameless ballwashing is endless with you. Whose job is it to manage the assistants, who hired them, who approved and accepted scholarship offers? The buck stops with the HC! It took an act of God and the potential loss of his job to get him to do what he is being paid to do and what he should’ve been doing for the past 5 years!

Towson isn't on there either and per twitter, their coach just did an in home visit with NT. Hope Siena is still in the conversation, seems like the kind of kind that can really help the program. We re right there with Timberlake. IF we don't get the kid Im guessing he ll be loyal to the school that's been there for 16 months. Pretty sure our HC is in Boston as we speak. He's gone over the top for this kid and Welch, so if we end up short, at least I know he went the whole way trying to get them. I don't generally follow recruiting. Timberlake is the first kid I can remember being genuinely excited about since the whole Justin Miller multiple press conference debacle of 1999. He is one kid that kk and I agree completely on.

Interesting that the HC at Spire is a Siena fan. Maybe that helps with Welch a little bit?

HJ did acknowledge in his post that Jimmy is to blame for the performance or lack of same by his assistants. I tend to agree with you more than I do HJ, but I do not think his post was excusing Jimmy.

If he delegates to the point of failure and it takes year SIX to rectify it there’s something seriously wrong and it’s more than putting to much “faith” in your assistants. His post is passively implying Jimmy is indirectly responsible (passing the buck) and I’m saying he as the headcoach is completely responsible. There is a major difference.

Have you ever been an assistant for a scholarship basketball program? I'm guessing your involvement in basketball ended at the CYO level. What do you think these 4 other guys on the payroll are supposed to do for their paycheck? Some get that ONE guy is given the task of doing the "scout" for an upcoming game, and it usually rotates. Particiapte in practices. What else? Honestly. RECRUITING is their most important job. HC's go out during the live periods sure, and are expected to close targets that that your assistants bring you. IF Fran, or the other guys you idolize, did most of the recruiting, what the hell are we writing 4 other checks for? You dont think Andrew Francis did most of the recruiting for Fran? Those guys are the ones that need to establish the relationships early on to even get in the door with a kid. Then the HC closes. I dont think he's been bought very good talent in his 4 years. AND LIKE I SAID IN PREVIOUS POST, ULTIMATELY THATS ON HIM.

All I’m saying he is directly responsible for every kid that signs. The assistants can facilitate he should be reviewing and evaluating. Come on it doesn’t take a college level coach to see that we’ve been tanking on the recruiting trail. If you and I can see it and most here can see it ... why couldn’t he? It took year SIX and the threat of his job to get him to change...

Thats fine. Ignore my posts, and I'll do the same. You bring nothing to the table but negativity. At least I have valid information.

th e record is what it is and doesn’t need debating anymore. My only request is no more extensions no matter what happens. If he recruits his ass off and win some games in the meantime that will be a lot more fun than losing them all.

I’m perfectly aware how the system works. AGAIN .... All I’m saying is that Jimmy is directly responsible for every kid that signs. To use your example above how long do you think Fran would have continued down that same path with his assistants if he was getting the same results as Jimmy at Siena. I’ll give you a hint, it wouldn’t be year six! Think heads would have rolled do you think Fran would have become more directly involved and engaged? I think so. It appears to me Jimmy was lazy, a little complacent and grossly misjudged expectations. Saying he put too much faith in his assistants going into year six is insulting!

No, you're disapproving one word response of "Baker" earlier started it. Like it wasnt good enough. You needed it to be Timberlake or Welch or you'd shit on it. It's that constant negative take that had me post you're usual grading theory. "Who'd we beat for him?" Unless we beat an A-10 or Big East kid for a recruit, he's not good enough for SuperFan OneIndian. #youreaneasyread

That was in response to racersedge when asked who committed, there was nothing disapproving about it. There was already thread at that point. I didn’t feel the need to rehash.
