Like I'll say till we play or see a team formed. What you plan on doing on offense will dictate the way the players play.If you start with a system you want to play. You make and do drills for that offensive style. If he's trying to get these players it leaves me with some optimism that he won't be running the flex 2play.That he's going to spread the court therefore making these players change the way they play next year hopefully.

Mark Singelais:
.@spire_Institute head coach Dave Briski on new Siena commit DeVon Baker: "They're getting the most underrated player in the country. The kid's really, really good. He's special." Averaged 17 ppg, 5 rpg, 4 apg, for SPIRE, which went to national prep championships.
1 min ago · TwitterPenn, Baker, Timberlake, Welch, Oduro would be pretty athletic...with maybe Emilien off the bench at the PF. You know, just wishful thinking again. OH, I am with you there on that group (I still wish Chatman was a possibility as well)...................but a concern, why isn't Timberlake on the VerbalCommits for us, did we not offer? ??

Back up point guard was a need, it's been filled. (And it gives the Saints some insurance in case Penn's heel is not ready to go in November) Kid looks like he has a legit D1 body.
Hoping for Timberlake or Welch. (or both) and a bigger body to push the returning bigs.

need more scholarship openings...................are individual player meetings being held to determine their status on this roster? ??...............still needs 2-3 actual difference makers on the wing, athletic scorers, rebounders & legit defenders (more so if our frontcourt doesn't improve or stays as is)............... for that matter, has the YEAR END meeting between Darg & Patsos occurred yet? ..............as of last week, it had not............that is very odd & concerning.............. Saw one of the ESPN or Yahoo college basketball guys predict that there will be over 1000 D1 transfers this year, that's like 3 per program and with graduations/kids using up their eligibility, it seems likely that most schools will be turning over up to 50% of their rosters. Disturbing trend to say the least.

Towson isn't on there either and per twitter, their coach just did an in home visit with NT. Hope Siena is still in the conversation, seems like the kind of kind that can really help the program.

I have no idea where his skill level is but I like his athleticism..something this team sorely needs. He is a cut above athletically than typical Patsos recruit. He looks to have some skills, but we know these highlight tapes can be deceiving. At worst hopefully he can give us 10 min a game backing up Penn, at best he can play 20-25 min and move penn off the ball for periods of the game

We re right there with Timberlake. IF we don't get the kid Im guessing he ll be loyal to the school that's been there for 16 months. Pretty sure our HC is in Boston as we speak. He's gone over the top for this kid and Welch, so if we end up short, at least I know he went the whole way trying to get them.

Does this (Spire connection) help with Welch? Penn insurance policy? Older offers (2016) from MAC and Horizon not much activity since. Anything on his game? KK? I sure hope it'll sway Welch in our favor. You have to think it would help.

You know I appreciate that fact that Jimmy has worked so hard on this class. And yeah I know you can’t change the past. But it does beg the question of where this level of effort was the last 5 years

At worst hopefully he can give us 10 min a game backing up Penn, at best he can play 20-25 min and move penn off the ball for periods of the game Based on limited video and stats he looks at least to be a decent Penn insurance policy and also looks like he has combo ability. I don’t want to knock the kid (I haven’t seen him play). However, given our current and dire need for increased athleticism, foot speed and players that can create their own shot and get to the rim with consistency what you have to ask yourself is he a game changer like a Welch or Timberlake might be? My guess is we have to wait and see what the entire class looks like, Penn’s status and who is leaving before we know how Baker fits in the entire picture and class quality! Only then will you be able to judge whether or not Jimbo has made any headway in correcting our current situation.

Having really good assistants is the first step in recruiting well.
