Kadeem has flourished once he was the only option. Im not sure if he doesnt play well competing for minutes in practice or what? I know the staff thought he'd be the starting PG this year, but got beat out by Penn. Someone he played against for a semester in practice. I hope he comes back. EspecialLy with Penns foot issue looming. by all accounts, Smithen will not be returning........and Penn may not be ready to start the season next yr............ Did Penn have is surgery yet? I saw him at the game yesterday and he's still in a boot?

I have not heard if he did as of yet, but only that this injury is much more serious than originally thought with rehab possibly taking longer........but still a lot of unknowns.............

It doesn't make sense why they would wait, does it? From what I've been told the longer you wait from the point of diagnosis the worst it becomes. They're not considering trying to get some minutes out of him in the tourney are they?

The fact that he is a "student" athlete might have something to do with...just a thought...

@marksingelais 54m54 minutes ago More Jimmy Patsos addressing Siena's scholarship situation with no seniors: "To say you don't have another scholarship right now in April would be naive. Nobody's head is in the guillotine, but it's the nature of the business. The average turnover is three to four players a year." LOL,.............guess what, yours is already, might not be today, might not tomorrow, but you won't escape that blade forever................

Well now we have the target quantified - I'd say he's encouraging 3 or 4 or more beyond dearly departed Nico - curious to see how many will surprise him...I would love to tell him to stick it where the sun don't shine (and that's a lot of so-so space shrouded by Mark Thomas).... Can’t wait to update my exit tracker. He’s working on losing 70% of his recruits in years 1-3. Time to start working on thinning out the heard from year 4. Looks like another round of Patsos annual spring cleaning. The sad part is why bother he’s now a sub 500 coach. It’s not like the revolving door approach is solving any problems. Pretty sad this behavior was rewarded with multiple contract extensions.

exactly OneIndian that's what nauseates me the most. how did a Franciscan college ever allow an abusive, egomaniacal self -serving and lazy coach to subvert the program and literally run off student athletes? i was proud of the Franciscan tradition which supported -even to a fault- the student athlete, claiming every member of every team a valued part of the Siena family. Now the only 'family' member is one who dishonors Siena at every turn . Crass vs class; self over Siena. Shame shame shame. His patented and spittle enhanced abuse is legendary at Siena-and its allowed to continue.

Article in today's Times Union on Smithen saying he may be coming back despite his being honored tonight. immy says it is up to the player. Sorry I couldn't link it. And I'm having trouble buying it - I think it will depend more on how many offers are accepted...up to the players, LMAO!!!!!

More spin from Rex I dont care what the NCAA transfer rate is or how many kids transfer annually. I care what it is at this program. A 70% player loss over a 3 year recruiting cycle is excessive and symptomatic of a much more serious underlying issue. DArg and Jimbo can spin it however they like, I don’t buy it!

So-so once again consciously or unconsciously reveals his favorite sport - baseball - he says he gets to play General Manager at this time of year deciding on who goes, who stays - not many General Managers in D1 hoops that I've ever heard/read about. For those that have never attended a so-so run "practice", he loves to play "baseball" (his name for them) 5 on 5 scrimmages...weird and, obviously, not the most effective player development or team development scheme compared to our previous coaches....

Sorry I couldn't link it. honored tonight, then honored again next yr? .............nope, I am not buying it..................JP has his agenda, he is walking the plank now, next yr he has to win or else, and he cannot endure another season like this IF he is sticking around................no new recruits, NO chance of even sniffing the top half of the league...............
