I thought Jumbo was suppose to have us all forget about Mitch. He just brings back the bad memories Mr. Patsos compiled a mediocre 51% win - loss percentage during his 9 seasons as head coach at Loyola. Why did anyone believe that the seemingly unorganized and undisciplined Patsos could suddenly become a consistent NCAA winning coach at Siena? In 2 years when Patsos departs Siena then I hope they select Ohio State Assistant Greg Paulus is he has not yet been hired for a head position. I remember him playing at Duke. Not sure the what path the powers that be would take but I've always been in favor of an up and comer. They have something to prove and infuse that attitude into the team. They prepare and work hard because their future depends on it. They are not looking to sit tight at .500 until retirement or pile on BS.

Never won the MAAC 500 coach, questionable antics, 1 N tournament in 9 years and DArg bit hook line & sinker.

His nickname was even .500 Fran. The difference was Fran up his game when he got to Siena. Jimmy has coached/recruited/scheduled etc the same exact way he did at Loyola. What you get are the same results. I honestly don't know if Jimmy really got what the Siena job is. Maybe he thought it was just another MAAC job like Loyola. I think he just wanted to stay in the MAAC since Loyola went to the Patriot league. Siena did not want to take a risk coming off the Mitch disaster so they went with the safe call. Also a coach with a personality after Mitch's non-personality. The problem is when you not winning Jimmy's act starts to become very annoying. He's basically Rex Ryan.

In the MAAC between Fran and SoSo there is no comparison. Let that dead horse die, it's been beaten to death.

I really don’t think Jimmy fully understood the Siena job. Oh sure he said right things, but in the past he could always B/S his way. At Siena you can’t get away with giving your millionaires “walk on” son a ship. Telling the fan base it’s all about the MAAC, non conf games don’t matter. Basically talking and acting like Siena is low major job (which he has basically turned us into) I suppose there is always chance he could leave after this season, instead of waiting to get fired after 2017/18 season. But my guess he is here at least until then, maybe longer.
And BTW he isn’t stinky Jimmy—certain jobs he would be very good at. Places that historically stink and 500 record is acceptable

Therefore, we should turn a blind eye to the lack of championships and marquee wins, somehow he would just flip a switch and win here like never before. the reality is he took the players he recruited to Loyola to play here, and has recruited similar players since. While there have been no national incidents (yet) his coaching style has remained the same, as expected. What exactly was supposed to change? Now we are supposed to believe that it is impossible to win at Siena lol. If Siena does need a coaching change we need to attract a coach that has won at a lower level of d1, not a coach that has already proven to be unsuccessful at our level.

No Fran took two different programs to the NCAA tournament, and did it within several years of hire.

If Siena does need a coaching change we need to attract a coach that has won at a lower level of d1, not a coach that has already proven to be unsuccessful at our level. What he said about winning at Loyola was absolutely true - the reason was staring him in the face each morning while looking in the mirror while shaving - although in his defense, he would have had to stand so far away from the vanity mirror to get the "big" picture he obviously didn't recognize himself.....he has no strengths - so-so in all aspects of the coaching game - unfortunately, his ego prevents him from looking at what winning coaches/Programs do and comparing that to what he has dragged over from Baltimore without even dusting any of it off - we are in year 4 of the rolling 5 year plan.....the staff is a very fluid revolving door bunch with the exception of Greg and it's obvious his relationship with Jumbo isn't comfortable enough to force changes - they are too used to future looking - all about the MAAC - oops - all about three (maybe four) days in March - oops - wait till next year - ooops - maybe next year is a stretch as a target......

We need change as next year we will be "rebuilding" off our 16-17 Senior team. Lets get someone young, driven, smart, hunger and someone who knows what he is doing! Kids want to win and this is an awesome place to do that
