pipe dreams. my only acceptable option: play the game once every four years. At the TUC. Siena keeps ALL revenue. Split the arena tickets (again the MONEY all goes to Siena). NOT included in Siena season package. Talk about a pipe dream!

Certainly don't need it, but I just think it would be too bad to lose it. I do think it's good for the area and local sports fans in general when it can draw over 10K. Despite what some say, it is a rivalry. What hurts it at this point is that the TUC is the best place to play, but will always have to count as a home game for Siena since its our home court. I am softening my position on splitting the arena mostly due to UAlbany's rise, but hard to justify that when it has to count as a home game. That's why I advocate for a true home and home. In the year that we are at sefcu have a viewing party, make it an event, Siena can monetize it. The year it's in the TUC you keep every penny... Having this game at the TUC will draw even more interest in the years you host the game seeing how it comes around once every two years so it will drive the desire to go see it live. Having it at sefcu will do nothing to hurt interest in this game. It will also allow for you to schedule a team you otherwise wouldn't have not to mention and rpi boost being a road team. Viewing parties is a ridiculous idea. If that is what you want, play the game in an empty high school gym and simulcast the game into the SEFCU and TUC so all the fans can "enjoy" the game being played on a neutral court. Ridiculous, yes, but no more so than your idea.

I personally have said this for at least 7 or 8 years. Dont like the game... dont like the whining from across town and dont like the dartboard management philosophy of Siena anyway. There is no way to play the game other than at the TUC that makes it worthwhile to the community. It then, per NCAA rules, HAS to count as a home game for Siena. It isnt quite a home game for Siena given the displacement of some siena fans and of course EVERY UA fan that would want to attend is capable. UA gets a "road" game each and every run even though it is far from a "road" game. THAT is your benefit. Siena gets NOTHING out of this other than possible cash. Win win... or go pound salt.

Our only incentive is that it's a road game? You can't be serious...cancel this thing if that is what we get out of this deal. Of all the plans that have been put forth this is by far the most ridiculous. Quite frankly pretty transparent that these conditions are intended to simply cancel the game. There is zero reasonable there...UA officials would laugh and walk out of the room if someone at Siena actually tried to pitch this. LMAO

Your right Click you get nothing out of it. No 20k, no playing in front of minimum of 8-10k, nothing to help recruit, no bragging rights, no away game, perhaps play another game at home in front of 2-2.5k. Your coach says one of his bucket lists is to try to fill the SEFCU. key word try. Well ask Siena for a list of their fans and mail to them. You may get your wish. We all admit it good inexpensive entertainment, but it's the season ticket holder Siena fan casual Siena fan that will do so, not the students.

I'd like to see Siena and UA host a Capital District tournament at the TU with 2 other solid mid majors like Davidson Xavier Butler Dayton UMASS GW Murray State etc .... Siena vs Davidson, UA vs Dayton. Draw would be huge and it be a fun 2 days of hoop. Don't know if we could get teams here but it would be nice if it happened .... very cool idea! And I would love to see Murray State, that's my alma mater. (but I love our Saints, I'd never root against them)

If viewing parties are good for a portion of the community, it should be good for the entire group. You seem to think that the viewing party is equal to being able to see it live, so let everyone join in the fun.

I'm a fan of the 4 team round robin event. You should at least be able to get two teams of the like of St Bonaventure, Buffalo, Loyola, Cornell, Fordham in here to play 3 games in exchange for both Albany and Siena travelling to play at their arena the next year. You might even be able to get more attractive opponents than that with the opportunity to make one trip in exchange for two home games the next year. Keep it out of the season ticket package and make the all session passes affordable to encourage people to hit up all six games.

I remember way way back there was a Siena Invitational Tournament. One of the teams was Oklahoma City...they were big and came on the court looking good. Just their warm ups were impressive. It would be good to get teams we normally never would play. By the way..we cleaned Oklahoma City's clock.
