Where did the 'redshirt' thing come in? I am with Gorvy. After 5 shit years, no one should be recruiting someone to redshirt, especially when your first two cycles are less than stellar in the eyes of many, and three of seven scholly players are now gone from the group. Promises of 'down the road' scholarships and 'redshirts' IMHO are smoke and mirrors while you hope for magic to happen and then leave your successor with misfit pieces as the program falls further behind the conference leaders. Isn't that why the last few years have sucked? It was a preemptive strike Translation: Just making stuff up to use as bait and hammer.

I'm in Boston for the weekend anyone go to the OFA Woodland game at GF? He scored way better than last week but his team lost by 18. They played a much better team (compared to Hoosick Falls). I wouldn't be surprised if this team (teal that brat OFA) wins the finals for Class B. They had more scorers than the other finalist. Roland #12 is on the other finals team who's going to GW. How'd we miss recruiting him? Roland is from Westhlll High Syr area Woodland was Sect 1 downstate I believe Westhill now plays Woodland

When OFAs PG went to bench, Kinnon basically ran the point & brought up the ball. Not quick but handled the ball well for 6-6 guy. I still say he's like a Beers/Knapp/Poole player. Has Poole's height and all thee's shooting (comparing freshmen to freshmen). He's up to 6'6" now? Many listings have him 6'4" 180-185. Some have him 6'5". If he's still growing, that's great Some one said he's 6-6, I was just repeating it.

Was able to meet him last night at Glens Falls. Really nice kid, well spoken and polite. Definitely closer to 6'4 than anything bigger. I am 6'0, and while he was noticeably taller than me he was not 6 inches taller than me.

4guysinblazers.com/sienas-kinnon-larose-works-to-prove-he-belongs/14451If early reports are any indication, LaRose may be just the shooter Patsos was looking for as he can really knock it down. He describes what Saints fans can look forward to when he steps on the court. “They can expect knocking down the three here or there, getting in somebody’s face, yelling, screaming and getting a stop, diving on the floor, just hard-working, never getting out-worked by anybody,” describes LaRose. LaRose is also enjoying playing for Coach Patsos. “He cares about his players and he does a lot of different things which I liked,” LaRose said. ”He’s just a passionate guy. All the coaches, they’re really into it. They’ll get on you but you know they’re just trying to help us.” “He says he only has two rules, Play Hard and Have Fun,” continued LaRose. ”That’s basically it. He cares about the players a lot. He’ll get on you but at the end of the day he just wants you to succeed. He doesn’t hold any grudges. If you make a mistake he’ll get on you and coach you through it but next time you’ll just do it better.” Like the rest of his team mates, LaRose is excited to kick off the season against the defending National Champions on November, 13. “It’s crazy. When I was younger I was a Duke fan growing up. I went to the Duke Basketball Camp in Durham so I’ve been there once but to go there and play an actual game on the Division I level in front of everybody in the nation basically, it’s amazing.”

I don't believe that they do. Then if the decision is up to Kinnon I would think that would really make him not want to redshirt.

I don't believe that they do. Is that the school's policy/ to save money? I know walk ons travel and sit on the bench for many other schools, as they are part of the team. If we are talking about red shirts then I think it is an NCAA rule that they can't travel with the team.

I think LaRose has the potential to be a sleeper down the road. I think he plays this year and can help us with some much needed outside shooting.
Smithen is sitting out, I wouldn't expect anything from Gottfried so if you RS LaRose now you're down to 10 scholarship players. Let's face it injuries, as we saw last year, happen (hopefully not to that level again).
LaRose will fill Ryan Oliver's role next year after getting his feet wet in 2015-16.
