That Norwich team had a great guard named Charlie something. Pretty sure he ws left-handed and made like 7 3's in one game at GF. Great team. Charlie Wightman , was a deadeye shooter. He and a team-mate ended up going to SUNY Plattsburg if I remember correctly. HJ did you play baseball at Shaker High? Yes, and basketball til I hurt my shoulder playing football my junior year.

Their sister still holds the schoolrecord for girls high jump.

I can't answer #1. But question #2: NYS public high schools are organized in 10 sections. None of these sections include NYC. There are 5 classes. AA A B C D. The Double As are by far the largest schools -- Shen, CBA, Guilderland ETC. The As are the next largest Scotia dominates this class now. Kinnon plays in B like Watervliet (made a run recently), Cohoes, etc. Wincowski played in C with lake george. The Ds are the smallest school -- Adonal Foyle came out of a D school though in the 90s. The PSAL is made up of NYC schools. THey also have an AA, A and B. The Catholic schools (CHSAA) have their own group. The remaining few schools not in any of those are in the AIS (Independent). Albany academy usually plays in this group. At the end of the season, each of those four state champions play each other in the federation tournament. Usually the CHSAA, AIS and the PSAL dominate these, but occasionally the public schools win. Thank you for that detailed explanation. Am I to assume that the smaller schools almost always have lesser talent? That seems odd to me based on the fact that who goes to which public school is totally random based on where they happen to live. I find it unlikely that all the division 1 quality players just happen to live in the same school districts. Do we know of any examples of notable division 1 players who came from class B and smaller schools other than Foyle? Christian Laettner

Just reflecting back. I wonder what would have been the comments about some of the players on Siena's first NCAA team if the internet had existed. Bruce Schroder only a Division III offer, ,Jeff Robinson skinny and jumped Center in H S as well as brought the ball up the court ,Steve McCoy can't jump, Tom Huerter Sr. not athletic, Mark Brown too frail. They turned out pretty good.

MP - We get it you HATE Jimmy.
I don't know if I can take reading it anymore. This board is becoming harder and harder to read.
I really hope Jimmy sticks it up everyone's ass the next two years wins two MAAC titles and then bolts because no matter what he does there is a faction that will hate him.

Mike, we get it, you LOVE Jimmy (for now anyway). Here's a little experiment for you to try - block me and I'm willing to bet the reading difficulty will not diminish from your perspective. Now go back down to the basement and have another glass of Kool Aid!

Never said I love JP (he has a lot to prove at Siena) but every other post is either an outright attack of the guy to a thinly veiled shot. It's like a broken record. OK you think he sucks - fine. How many times can you say it?
