Has there been an announcement regarding MW's departure that I missed? Why is everyone posting as tough this is fait accompli? A redshirt not travelling with the team is normal. A redshirt not even sitting on the bench during home games is a pretty definitive sign they are leaving.

Pretty sure based on what Knicksaint said that any transfer would have to pay their own way second semester, that would seem highly unlikely. I like the team we have, barring a BCS stud falling in our lap there is no reason to bring someone else in. Unlike most on here, I want one more big a lot more than a SG anyways.

Bigs will be JO, Brandwijk, Bisping, Fisher. .. and long paying more at the 4. Give me Grant and a 6'2-6'4 somewhat to athletic shooter

From Siena's web page. GENERAL: •Extremely athletic, long big man who can jump out of the gym •Has 3-point range on his smooth jumper •Tremendous upside •Moves with great fluidity 2013-14: •Played in 36 of 38 games averaging five minutes per contest •Scored season-high 14 points (including four dunks) in 24 minutes played at Canisius (12/8) •Played seven minutes and scored four points in CBI Championship final victory over Fresno State (4/2) •Shot 45% from the field and 79% from the foul line BEFORE SIENA: •Averaged 15 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in helping Georgetown Prep to a 15-11 overall record, including a 7-3 mark in the Interstate Athletic Conference •Posted eight double-doubles, a triple-double against St. Albans (31 points, 15 rebounds, 10 blocks), and 20 performances eclipsing double-figures in the points column •Earned First Team All-League (IAC) and Second Team All-Gazette and All-Sentinel, and averaged nearly 20 points and nine rebounds per game in IAC competition He should have played more....Willem is being played like Wolfe was, not enough Brandwijk has only played three college games. You will see his minutes go up as the season goes on. It usually takes freshmen big men time to get into the mix. These 10 days will give the coaching staff time to address a lot of issues. Have 3 games in 6 days did not allow a lot of time to fix things (i.e. the defense) and adjust without Silas (Brandwijk and JO will have to pick up Imoh's shot blocking/rim protection). As far as Wolfe goes if in fact he decides to move on I wish him the best. He is very athletic and should be able to go someplace and contribute. But he likely see the writing on the wall. Brandwijk's time will continue to increase... JO has improved greatly and Evan Fisher is added to the team next fall.

As people watch these players. .. start watching them, in particular, off the ball and on defense. ... also off the ball. Zone team is going to require these guys "get it" or they are liabilities. You see a player being redirected or remembering late where they are supposed to be. .. you now know why they aren't getting more time. Experience and dedication to learning the system will change that

You see a player being redirected or remembering late where they are supposed to be. .. you now know why they aren't getting more time. Experience and dedication to learning the system will change that Zoning up will make Brandwijk and JO more effective defenders. It allows them to stay at the rim and use their best defensive skill. It's also easier to know where to be and not be caught out of position as much. It pisses me off when I see WB and JO defending out on the perimeter. It's just asking for fouls and giving up easy buckets. I knew this was coming after the Gannon game. It was way too easy for them to score inside. I would be a zone coach I think. It forces teams to be better on offense and gives up less easy buckets. Let them make the mistakes, not you. Of course, this still means pressing ...unlike Mitch...but fall back into a zone in the halfcourt and make teams beat you. Having more guys between your opponent and the basket is a good thing. I want to see a dramatic difference on D vs. Loyola.

Zone makes for laziness rebounding I'll take rebounding any way I can get it. Saints have more scorers than most MAAC teams right now. Quinny is relying on 2 guys for scoring, Manhattan 3, SPU and Marist 1, etc.. Iona most at 4 etc..... Siena is going 7 or 8 deep with double digit type scorers right now. There is no excuse for having any kind of defense that screws that kind of scoring depth up. We're losing because we're giving up 84 points per game and only scoring 79. Come on. We have a better D than that. We're giving up easy layups. I hate giving up easy layups. That's how you let bad teams beat you. Make them work. Take those away and we win vs. Vermont. Maybe not Umass but the Vermont game becomes an entirely different story.

Wolfe would benefit from playing in a wide open system, no set plays. Playground style. He'd kill it. Hope he finds something that fits his strengths, not his weaknesses.

Last yr was not the norm when Jimmy was forced to play the freshmen maybe more than he normally would have wanted to. It's my understanding that Jimmy normally doesn't play freshman lots (based on time at Loyola). Seems like he'd prefer bringing them along a little slower (of course any stars would change that). I simply believe Jimmy's bringing WB & JP along slower because he has that luxury. Of course with Imoh going down unexpectedly I would expect to see WB with more mins especially when he play down in comp and against the MAAC (starting in Jan). By the time WBs freshman season in winding down I fully expect his mins to be higher than MWs freshman mins.

Different situations with WB and Wolfe. We dont need much from freshmen going forward. Our experience is one of our strengths. His lack of PT is due to our depth. Agreed that Silas being out gices WB a shot that Paige does have with so many 2's 3's and 4's in front of him.
