What are the odds we could get a mid-season transfer who can shoot and be eligible after first semester next year? I know its a long shot but we cannot just rely on brininging the HS kids to fix all holes.

The number of scholarships in use when the school year begins or shortly thereafter determines the ability of a D1 school to bring in someone at the semester break. Since all 13 were filled, someone looking to come here at the break would need to pay his own way, subject to whether there is institutional aid that could be available, and I do not know if that is absolutely permitted.

"If Wolfe Transfers mid season"... Why are we even having this post if we don't really know what is going on. If he isn't planning on transferring we are doing a good job of chasing him away.

Or is Cam Gottfried on deck for a scholarship? We haven't seen much of him yet, but we haven't seen much of Jimmy Paige either.

Nothing against Cam. I'm sure he's a good kid and works hard. But he should have never been offered a scholarship. As a walk on he's fine, but given the need for an athletic all around SG guard that Siena has lacked since the Kenny/CJ era....you should never be just giving away schollies haphazardly.
This was a questionable move from the get-go. Even if Wolfe leaves....now we also don't know what Silas is gonna do. Right about now, I think we all miss Silas a little more. I have no problem with taking him back. So where does that leave us?
Short of scorers....need to replace Poole and Hymes. Cole is a wild card. You first have to play Paige to see what he can be. And White is a defensive specialist mostly.
The #1 rule about the MAAC is never be guard poor. That's like THE only unbreakable roster building rule. Patsos has been teetering on the edge of that.
I don't mind getting Wormley as a pure PG. If he sees potential there..ok. But then you give Cam a 'ship, and take Fisher over a guard with your last scholly? I don't get it.
Some things have to change and we have to land some guard help for next year.
Ryan Oliver is not the type to be able to carry a team on his back. Cars, Trucks, Planets,... the Universe maybe...but not likely a team.

It looks like JP promised his friend, Cam's father , that he would get a scholarship. I hope JP can get out of this one, since it looks like we really need a guy who can create his own shot and score.
We will see.

Jimmy says a lot of things. Jimmy knows it's a business - like he always says "If I don't win, I'll get fired". We will more than likely have two 'ships to use next year. We need another shooter/scorer and with the other spot we will see. I think Cam was probably offered the opportunity to "compete" for one. As for the red-shirt thing this is just me speculating but it's probably so Cam will have four years of eligibility should he transfer to another program (D2?) down the road.
