Bisping needs to bring his A-Game. No more missing 3 FTs cause you're sick. Suck it up buttercup. Make it rain.
I fear that this might be a game where Lavon is outmatched. Umass is quicker than him on the wing and bigger and possibly also quicker than him in the post.
Brandwijk might need to be a factor. Shore up those screens and get cracking.
Wright, Oliver, Poole, Bisping, JO/Brandwijk in a zone might have to be what we go with a lot to keep the scoring/shooting on the floor with height.
We're not going to be able to drive inside easily with their guard athleticism and Lalanne inside. We're gonna need the shooters so we can spread the floor as much as is humanly possible.
We need to pull Esho and Lalanne outside.
I think WB is gonna have to be a big part of this game.

We have an advantage at the SF spot off the tip. Lavon will use his size against the guy defending him like he did vs Fresno State. On the defensive end Lavon is quick enough to defend his position and too quick for their 4 man. A matchup problem for them.

If Lavon scores in double digits chances are that we probably won.

Gannon doubled down on the post and we got open shots because of it

If they have to worry about Lavon offensively at all it will open things up for others. Gannon doubled down on the post and we got open shots because of it Gannon is NOT Umass. UMass was a top 50 defensive team last year. They still have the pieces to make that happen again. The only top 50 defense we faced last year was Manhattan. Lavon never got to double digits in either of those games. Cady Lalanne doesn't quite block shots like Brown but if he plays like he did last year, he is approaching the ability of Silas. Saints need to be ready to face some adversity on the offensive end. Hopefully, Umass's rust and the incorporation of the new pieces without Chazz allows us to catch our breath. Umass fans think late game is their time in this game. I think it might be ours. They have more to lose and as we saw all last year...if we're within 3 or 4 pts at half, we likely win it in the last 10 minutes. That's Patsos' M.O. If we punch em' in the mouth a bit, the momentum could turn to our favor as they look to leadership without Chazz.

It does not matter what the D is rated. When you double down on the post it creates open shots on the perimeter and we knocked them down. We can do that with every team on our schedule IMOP. And Lavon does not need to score points for us to win... he could get 10 assists...he does much more than score. Hopefully he gets to the line alot 3-4 in the last game

UMass isn't deep in the frontcourt at all. If Lavon gets Lalanne and Esho into foul trouble, life gets a hell of a lot easier inside. Bergantino just suffered an ankle injury. He's their only 'experienced' big off the bench. Others also aren't eligible or are nursing injuries like Coleman. Lavon needs to try to attack early and see if he can get them to foul. Get these guys out and the boards could be ours...well if JO does his job rebounding. If that doesn't work, it could come down to spreading the floor and dragging these guys out with Bisping and Brandwijk etc.

I think it's good to catch this team early. They have a lot of new moving pieces on the perimeter that are still trying to figure each other out.
First game without Chazz is a big deal for this program.

This is just a smokescreen by JP to throw UMass off. Our secret weapon Maurice White will be there and drop 20 on em!!!

If they double down we kick it out or get fouled attacking the basket.
