After watching today's practice I'm sure we will see a lot of W B. In scrimmage he threw down a spectacular reverse dunk from a standstill. Later Michael Wolfe threw down an on the run alley oop from Evan. I have never before seen anything like either dunk from a Siena player and have never seen anything like W B's from any opponent. Oh yeah I forgot our team lacks athleticism Well remember last year at this time, Patsos was talking about White being the last man and even had a small injury I think. Then in game 1 he plays starters minutes. WB has too much stupid skills to be rotting on the bench.

That lineup makes no sense. Only 3 big men in the entire playing rotation? Unless he plans on playing Bisping and Ogunyemi 35 minutes a piece, I think WB is likely to get into the regular playing rotation at some point as the season progresses - especially with Long and Silas being fouling machines. Long will be getting plenty of time as "the fourth guard"

Oh yeah, I forgot guys need to get in the game to use athleticism to benefit the team

Also noted on Wyland: Bisping was out nearly two weeks with the flu, just getting back.
Semi-serious Q: do college kids get flu shots? Poole missed a bunch of time his sophomore year w/ the flu. Seems like an easy fix for their general well-being. Does the college have a flu shot clinic or anything?

Jimmy also said that Paige was getting closer to being in the playing group.

Can't speak for Siena but know when I was in college the flu shot was offered in the training room. I got one the one year, got sicker than I've ever been, and never got one again. So a flu shot isn't always the answer.

listened to the feed today. I hate when announcers ask a guest a question and then talk over them to answer it for them. Wyland asked oliver who was playing well and then talked over Ryan mentioning Cole etc. I would rather hear the player/coaches answers than Wyland's need to hear himself.

Yeah, it seems to me that Cole could be the one most 'on the hotseat' with regards to Paige given what we're hearing. He's getting downplayed constantly...yet others get talked up. I mean, last year, he was talked up and was a possible starter.. then he's a 6th man type...now he's the 10th man...how much lower can he go?

Well there are 13 scholarship players on the team and then the walk-ons - so he has a few spots further he can drop. Next thing you know he'll just be a manager. Kinda funny that this time last year we were being told he was the best player on the team. My, how quickly things change in Loudonville.

For what it's worth, at practice on Tuesday, when the team broke into groups and ran through their sets (no defenders), Jimmy told Brett to sit on the sidelines and take a break. Patrick Cole took Brett's place with the other starters. Does that make him 6th man, 10th, whatever? Jimmy will play whoever he wants, any time he wants. Remember last year when Jimmy put Steve Cruz into a couple of games when those games were still very much in doubt? You're just wasting your time if you try to figure out where each of the non-starters will fit from game-to-game. Sixth one game, twelfth the next. Matchups, fouls, game situations, injuries will all play a part in who plays when.

Pre season guess work by bored fans is a big part of Siena Basketball........it always has been.
I have not seen a lot of Pat Cole over these 16 months. But what I have seen is a young man with a big heart. Add that competitive spirit and and will to win to his physical ability and you have a leader who will be part of the group that wins a lot of games.
Who cares if he is 5th or 6th man or 10 or 11. Mark my words. He will be on the floor at the final buzzer of many wins,

Brett is sick and Jimmy is experimenting. I'm just trying to see the frosh's potential avenues into the playing group. I think they have the most upside.

It says alot about the Saints when incoming freshman are not better than the returning players. We hope that they can help but we are glad we dont have to depend on them. Cole practiced all year and has DI experience. Paige, WB, and Cam will have an opportunity to earn PT.
