Agreed on the last post. If Oliver continues to develop the three shot and the inside shot game, he will be a even better contributor to this team.
If the starters are... Poole, Bisping, Wright, Silas, and Long (Guessing)
Hymes, White, Oliver, Cole, and JO (Again guessing) can certainly change the game in Siena's favor next year as bench players. If they are consistent as bench players, this Siena team will be amazing.
I feel the front line was pretty good this year, but with the experience gained this year, it will be even better. We'll see if the bench can be better for next year.
Starting 5 + a good bench = success.

A couple of times in the CBI Oliver put the ball to the floor and drove to the hoop. Adding and developing that ability to his game will make him a more complete player for Siena. I'm sure he will be working on that during the off season. I agree with the poster who said that Oliver's "sophomore jump" should occur next year given his injury in his freshman season. The converse is true for White. If he can develop and improve his outside game I would expect a big jump for him as well.

Yes we have not seen Cole's jump from freshman year yet....add that he now has 2 years of experience as a DI student athlete. .. he will def not be the same player he was as a freshman

It should be a good ride moving forward. Glad you are going to be on board.

He brings a good attribute in that he can get his own shot off, and he is a pretty good shooter, despite his shooting pct as a freshman, that was due to the fact he had poor shot selection. He needs discipline and hopefully the year off learning Jimmy’s system has helped. In fact only way I don’t see Patrick starting is if he doesn’t “buy into” Jimmy’s system and play under control. He can fill it up, Patrick can drop 30 points on any team on schedule next year. Anytime you avg double figures a freshmen – that’s pretty good. We occasionally bogged down offensively last year – and Patrick will definitely help with that- add expected offensive improvements from Wright- Long- White- JO , solid scorers in Poole and Bisping and scoring points should not be a problem next year. I really expect Jimmy to UP the tempo next year, to take advantage of our depth and improved offensive capabilities

Damn that can’t be right—Delusional Iona fans have been tooting their own horn for last month claiming they would be overwhelming favorites in the MAAC next season Cluless/Grasso and Iona better beat the bushes turn over some rocks etc—for some transfers that can play right away..there has to be some downtrodden 25 year old former player somewhere that needs another chance.. anyway it goes- with MAAC tournament on our home floor next year MAAC title will go through Siena .. hope the Gals, jaspers Quinny etc are up for the challenge. I like our chances

A different challenge for Jimmy this year: coaching a team with pretty high expectations.

I like our chances With the likelihood of the demise of the immediately eligible transfer next year, Iona's opportunity to immediately backfill to need will be diminished, but we cannot discount the quality of the returning Iona players and their ability to surround them with existing role players. They certainly will be at or near the top of the MAAC next year. The returning minutes methodology certainly favors Siena given that everyone of any significance is returning, but don't count Iona out just yet.

Bill I am not by any means “counting” Iona out or Manhhattan- Quinny etc for that matter—I was more or less chuckling at fact Iona fans have been touting themselves as overwhelming favorites in the MAAC next year— so far the admittedly early predictions—2 have picked Siena to win MAAC and another has Iona as a slight favorite over Siena. Gals lost a lot via graduation and if they can’t reload via transfer rules..Siena should be every bit as good as them next year – English Williams and Laury are terrific players—after that it gets very sketchy” to say the least for the gals ..point is if MAAC teams rosters stay close to what they are right now. I expect the MAAC to be a dog fight next year --

If every player on the team scores 10 points Siena will win the championship. I would say take 65-70% of the optimism that Siena fans have for incoming players and improving players and thats realistically where the team will be next season. Rarely does every player improve and every incoming player do great.

The team will continue to be balanced. Bisping and Oliver improved. .. Bisping ended up averaging 11 pts with his late surge. And Lavon stayed at 9+ all season. Poole ended at 14.6... I can see at least 4 double digit scorers in the starting 5 coming soon.
