As I stated in an off topic thread, their last game they crushed a Nicholls State team.
Nichols and Goodwin are huge monsters. That's what concerns me the most in this match up.
Their guards, who are experienced, are not shooting well except for Dixon Junior. That could change on Thursday- you hope not, however.
Siena needs to avoid foul trouble, drive to the hoop, and try to weather the "big run" from Memphis in some way.

I will be rooting for Siena to win this game, honest. I say this even knowing how unbelievably annoying it will be to here the gloating if that were to occur. I honestly can't think of much that would be more annoying and painful than seeing Siena win this game. But, it would be a nice win for the conference and its always fun to see lower echelon teams beat top level teams. This would be like David's little weak brother beating a steroid enhanced Goliath, so go Siena! However, final score will be about a 26 point loss, sorry:( Hey Yankee what's up w: the Marist hire? I was in the area so i went to the Elon game. What a mess. This guy looked like he couldn't care any less ... It was a debacle! I'm really thinking you got a Mitch 2.0 maybe worse. I dont think ive ever seen less coaching. You guys had a few nice games last year why the free fall?

I am just looking for a respectible performance. If I am one of the players, then yes, I expect to win. But trying to look at it objectively, any team with that much athleticism is almost always going to be a tough match up for a mid major. Unless Siena shoots it lights out, I am expecting Memphis to beat the spread. (Also, I am going with the old, if I expect them to do well they suck, reverse psychology gambit)

Guarding Jackson man-to-man will be a huge challenge and a lot to ask of Wright. Saints likely have to go zone and hope Memphis struggles from distance. Otherwise, their experienced guards will likely have their way with ours and get our bigs in foul trouble if we play man.
On the other side of the ball, I can't wait to see how well we handle Memphis' defensive pressure. If Wright & Co. pass that test, we'll be a very dangerous team come MAAC play.

Couple things 1) Kemp didn't play 2) Marist is adjusting to new style of play, they played dribble drive under Martin 3) I agree, Bower didn't get off the bench enough that game. He just took it. I mentioned that in the game thread, and that is concerning. BUT, just starting, maybe he wants to build up the relationship with the players before he starts yelling/screaming? 4) PG play, especially Morton has been beyond abysmal. That can't keep up all season. Thanks for asking, but I think if I continue talking about Marist, I will get yelled at by one of the generals of the board:)

I decided to fight the defeatist pregame attitude on this site rather than run from it..so I am here with a we can win rather than we will lose because we are a mid major...not what I instilled in mine so I won't accept it...they are just another DI team that we will stand up to and feel equal to when the game begins... if you don't believe you can win don't play

I think Hymes has to play over 30 mins this game and I'm not just stirring the pot here. This will probably be the best ballhawking team we face all year. They are averaging 12 steals per game so far. We need the extra ballhandler. Drink your fluids son, but not too much. We also need one of those games where he goes 5-7 from three. #DUE

Def need Hymes the fearless midget to work his magic..our jrs must lead with their experience.. expecting big things from Silas Poole and Hymes... Bisping is a big body that can match their size as well.. hopefully Long can stay out of foul trouble long enough to help out and brings some fight on the defensive boards so we can run

My keys to the game:
Keep them out of the lane Match or beat them on the glass Win the turnover battle Win points in the paint Shoot 70%+ from the stripe
A lot to ask but I know they have it in them. Can't wait.

Win or loose, these OFC games will help this team both emotionally and physically down the road. Especially when these kids are playing in the MAAC Tournament and maybe the dance Let's go SAINTS!

Memphis showed they are not a quality Top 20 team with their blowout loss to Oklahoma St. Playing at a neutral site against a team that could be looking beyond us to a match up with LSU is a great way to pick up coach's first signature win as a Saint. I think they will continue to run and press and I think Lavon and Imoh will have more of an impact on the game than they did against Purdue. These guys need to know that giving up a hoop here and there in the short run is better for the team in the long run. We need to realize, especially for offensively talented teams from higher conferences, that we can't always stop them but that if we can put two halves together of agressive offensive ball, that we just might be able to outscore them so my prediction on Thanksgiving is that we score, score, score. With Hymes getting into an apparant groove where he feels comfortable coming off the bench and is playing with confidence and not looking over his shoulder, I think we will finally find a way to play two solid offensive halves where we get production from everyone including a big breakout game from Wolfe and hold them off with an upset in a close win in a shootout; 90-88.
Halftime - Memphis-46 Siena-45
Poole-16; Hymes-15; Long-12; Wright-11; Silas-10; White-8; Bisbing-6; Wolfe-7; Oliver-5
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone. Go Siena! Beat Memphis!
