Memphis is lead by Nick King who is scoring 16.0 ppg in 16.3 mins. They essentially have six double digit scorers.
Probable Starters:
Joe Jackson G 6'1" 174 SR - vs - 6' Marquis Wright FR 159 Geron Johnson 6'3" 197 SR - vs - 6'3" Maurice White FR 197 (5'6" Evan Hymes JR) 155 Chris Crawford G 6'4" 222 SR - 6'5" Rob Poole JR 191 Austin Nichols F 6'8" 212 FR - 6'6" Lavon Long FR 234 Shaq Goodwin 6'9"242 SO - vs - 6'8" Imoh Silas JR 223
Michael Dixon Jr. 6'1" SR 200, Nick King 6'7" G-F FR 220 and Damien Wilson 6'6" SO G SO will see plenty of time. Kuran Iverson wil be the big off the bench at 6'10" 209 FR
This could be a great game but also could come down to playing a major who does what you do better/more experienced.
4 seniors in the back court is tough. One of the starters gets in trouble and they bring significant experience off the bench.
Memphis beat Austin Peay 95-69 and Nicholls State 98-59 but lost to Oklahoma State 101-80
Nicholls State is ranked 346 and is 1-4 with a number of ugly losses.
Austin Peay is ranked 298 and has a win over Montana State and the loss to Memphis.
Im now fairly intrigued by this game...

I think Bisping can win the matchup at the 4 vs the 6'8 Freshman..Hopefully Lavon can stay out of foul trouble and give some solid minutes down there...Saints can compete on the boards and defend with Silas , Bisping, Long and Poole all chipping in to make up for not having JO

Long and White getting some calls would really help too, when the refs in the Purdue game were letting them get killed it knocked them off their game. White's biggest offensive strength seems to be a very unfreshmanlike ability to get to the line. Hopefully the "neutral" refs are a little more fair to the Siena freshman.

It looks like HS all over again for Long never goes to the line but gets called for tic tac stuff all game...he just has to make the most of the mins he is out there and expect nothing from the refs going forward...that was my advice to him... and also to make 2-2 rather than 1-2 when he gets his opportunity. .. 50% from the FT line is not a good look

I will be rooting for Siena to win this game, honest. I say this even knowing how unbelievably annoying it will be to here the gloating if that were to occur. I honestly can't think of much that would be more annoying and painful than seeing Siena win this game. But, it would be a nice win for the conference and its always fun to see lower echelon teams beat top level teams. This would be like David's little weak brother beating a steroid enhanced Goliath, so go Siena! However, final score will be about a 26 point loss, sorry:(

PPC - love your enthusiasm but Nichols is a big time player who had his choice of schools. He has had some big games - hope your right though!

Looking for a W as always Get ready for a visit to your eye doctor because all that straining could have a real negative impact on your future sight.

Memphis is favored by 18.5 ... I think Siena will cover the spread but lose by 12-15 points. Something like 83-70. I hope I am wrong but don't think this is a great match-up for us. I do think we've got a decent shot to beat St. Joe's on Friday (assuming LSU beats St. Joe's) and a good shot to win on Sunday (vs. Butler/Washington St or Purdue)
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you turkeys.... Raiders-Cowboys game tomorrow plus Siena-Memphis should be fun!! :-)
