Nice to see Doty contribute in a big way. Seeing a lot of zone his shooting will be beneficial going forward.

We need to pull the breaks on the over reactions….in both directions. This team is head and shoulders above what Carm had last year and anointing players as saviors (Doty being the latest) or busts after 1, or a few, games, is ridiculous. The reality is we had one bad loss, Albany. The other 3 the competition was just better than us. Yes, we are short on talent in spots, and are inconsistent in others, but these kids play hard, they just don’t have much experience at this level. I am still hopeful we can be competitive in the league. Well said saints15. I think the 3-0 start gave us fans some false hope that this team is better than they are. Maybe even gave that false hope to the players and coaching staff. I do think they will improve as the season goes on and will be competitive in the MAAC.

The game that bothers me the most is UA. Not so much because of the rivalry but because it was a game we should have won. The last three games were against a top 20 Big East on the road and two mid-majors (both from better leagues) on a neutral court who were just more talented and more experienced. At times the last two games we showed some good fight but we’re just not good enough to dig big holes and come all the way back against anyone. The first three games were against solid teams but they were all close games. We grinded them out. Have to get back to that the scrappiness and toughness.

Doty sounding like he'll be taking a lot of Ducharmes minutes..... I've liked what I've seen of him even when it was garbage time. I also like any kid who scored 30 ppg in high school, including some 50 point games. He's earned a starting spot or 6th man role from what he showed today, well ahead of Ducharme. I wouldn’t even say garbage time. We got it down to 6 and had the ball a chance to get it to one possession. Doty and Jones were a major reason why we cut into the lead. Unfortunately they didn’t get any help or Siena might have been able to pull it out.

These games are the perfect opportunity to iron out the wrinkles and get us prepared for the MAAC regular season. I think Gerry and boys will take care of business on Saturday against Bucknell. And while the trip west to Niagara and Canisius will not be a piece of cake, I think we can end this road trip with three wins

Not a good way to spark interest. Sorry to say Siena isn't back yet. GMAC needs to get players period. JB won a million games with players at SU not by being a great coach.

Win two in Buffalo or just more of the same.

Win two in Buffalo or just more of the same. If we can beat Bucknell and get a split in Buffalo being 5-5, 1-1 I’d take that. Gets the toughest conference road trip off the schedule. Siena will then have 12 of 21 games at MVP arena including some stretches where they can work on things in practice. It makes a big difference when a coaching staff has time to prepare their team. No games from December 8 to the 17 and again from December 20 to the 30.

Great performances by Doty and Jones. It was disturbing to hear on the broadcast that those two as 18 year old freshmen are among the very youngest in D I (?) basketball. It is further indication that COLLEGE basketball is no longer what it is supposed to be or described as being a game for 18 to 22 year olds. In ancient times I was not 18 years old until second semester of my freshman year.

We get neither out of HS in '25 IMO Hopefully we can get a 2nd year out of them.

Shoats as 6th man… Carey first big off bench (helps with foul issues) Ducharme, Wilmouth And there’s your top 9

This team needs offense, Ducharme and Doty are emerging at a good time as we get closer to MAAC play. Absolutely, Doty and Jones should get more minutes to see if they can produce more results like yesterday. However, Im not sure I’d change the lineup just yet. Saints have a couple of hungry players, if your starters aren’t giving the offense needed, time to let others have their minutes.
G-Mac and the comeback kids! I think these last two games gave the team a good identity. There is no quit. Challenges remain, let’s see what happens.

Doty and Jones will have a lot of ups/downs as young freshmen so let’s hold off on anointing them as the saviors based on a couple of games. Plus if they do start and do well you probably increase your chances of losing them at the end of the year. What I would like to see is us running/pressing more to try and create some easier shots in transition. We struggle in the half court. Since there is not a big talent gap between our top 5 and 6-9 you can afford to sub frequently and play at a faster pace.

Since there is not a big talent gap between our top 5 and 6-9 you can afford to sub frequently and play at a faster pace. We definitely need more points in transition and have to defend and get back better. GMAC wasn’t happy with that or our spacing which needs to be seriously improved. It’s a fair point that playing two frosh aren’t ideal and it is a small line-up for sure. Maybe just Doty starts but him and Jones should be seeing major minutes regardless. You can’t worry about losing kids. I actually think if they’re playing and engaged they are more likely to stick around at least for a couple of years anyway. We really needed a PG and more rebounding that’s the big issues for the team. While we don’t have to win a MAAC championship this season (though it would be a nice surprise!) I think GMAC knows he needs to have a good season to continue to build back the program to get future quality players in here. The stink of the 23-24 season needs to be wiped away quickly.
