Last game in the Ft. Meyers Tip-Off tournament for the Saints. Game is available for viewing on passtheballlive and audio only on JAMZ 96.3.
Jacksonville Dolphins, picked fifth in the ASUN preseason polling and led by ASUN all-team and preseason POY Robert McCray V. Saints and Dolphins (3-3) have never played each other. No secret what the game plan should be against the Siena; pack the paint and see if the Saints can score from the perimeter. This strategy might be the game plan for everyone the Saints face for the remainder of the year. Without the ability to spread the floor and open the lanes for driving and the pick and roll, Saints will continue to struggle offensively. Saints need someone else to emerge as a scoring threat.

Had a tough game vs Mercer blowing a big lead losing in OT. The game started late because the basket collapsed and didn’t end until after 5pm so Siena will get a little extra rest for another 11am tipoff. Maybe Jacksonville has a hang over after letting the game slip away. Siena needs a much better start then today. They were climbing up the grease poll and never could come all the way back. Robert McCray is their best player averaging around 16, 5, 5 and shooting 48%.

We can’t afford to fall behind by 6-8 points every game. Either Ducharme or Jackson should be 6th man.

Jacksonville had six players with double digit points and los to Mercer who only had five in double digits.

Lets hope Saints perform much better than yesterday. They are going to need to. From Team Rankings website:
• We currently rank Siena as the #312 team in the country, and the #10 team in the MAAC. • Next game: Tue, Nov 26 vs. #211 Jacksonville. Our power ratings give the Saints a 29% chance to win.
Odds: Jacksonville by 7, Total Points: 132
Go Coach GMAC and Saints!

Missed this in my research yesterday, Saints have played Jacksonville twice previously; 1994-95 and 1995-96 seasons losing both. G-mac's key to game, limit turnovers, rebound, better spacing on the floor.

Wow this is embarrassing.
Feels like the first three games were a tease.
It’s been all downhill since the UA game.
GMAC needs time one year obviously not enough to get the roster to where it needs to be.
Go Saints!

Our entire frontcourt has zero experience and we lack a reliable rebounder/defender inside. Outside shooting will be an isssue all year. Look for HS kids (Doty and Jones) to get more minutes as GMac realizes his big name transfers simply arent cutting it. MAAC as a league is so bad, we still might be competitive in league play.

The competition has figured out what is needed on both ends of the court to beat these Saints. Unfortunatley so far Siena has gotten worse as the season has progressed. This is a scary trend. They simply are not a very good team right now neither on offense or deffense. Very inconsistent as a team and individual players. Who are the Saints on court leaders and go to players? GMAC and staff have their work cut out for them.

This is to be expected with an almost totally new roster and a rookie coach. On paper these guys look good. They may be by March. With this kind of rebuild they can't expect much in terms of attendance at the arena though. I'll go because I have season tix but I have zero expectations at this point.

This team sure went from very interesting to not so much so in a short time. Don't see myself making much effort to get out to see the team this year the way things are trending. Gerry gets a pass since it is year one but the traditional excuse of a totally new roster doesn't float like it used to. Nowadays you need to be prepared to overhaul most of your roster from year to year. The coaches that can do that are going to be ones that succeed. Those that are relying on kids coming back and developing are going to be left in the dust. That's the sad state of college basketball right now.

Really wish we had Emejuru right now. I'm not sure if his leaving was mutual or more from his part but he'd really help now.

Regardless of how this turns out, Doty giving notice today for more playing time. A lot of fight with this Saints team, need more defensive stops to eat into that lead.
