all with Syracuse/GMac connections........... I would imagine Gmaac has a multitude of connections over his near 20 year affiliation with Syracuse. The Nunez link seems more credible based on a possible sighting at the presser. This basically what I was getting at, is their a potential link to the job or are we just tossing names about. 2 of the guys played at Cuse..........no idea if IS has inside info per our interest, just relaying the connection which is significant because they played for the Orange while GMac was coaching there..........

No specific link to Siena at the moment but I figured GMAC knows them and might consider them. I read somewhere these two were being tossed out as possible Syracuse assistants.

If they are possible Syracuse assistants, they are not likely to be Siena assistants.

Per HoopDirt, Jordan Fee of Gannon to be an AC at FAU

I love it too! Love the makeup he is looking for. Of the guys left on our current roster, I would think Ojo would be a guy GMAC may want to keep around, lenght, athleticism, shooting, bouncy. The other guys, will be interesting, not sure they are as attractive. Maybe Brayln but Coyle and ME, not so sure. I would think of Ojo wants to be here, he will be re-recruited and stick around for sure. Lets go Saints!

Per HoopDirt, Jordan Fee of Gannon to be an AC at FAU I think Canisius was in on him. I wonder where they go. They are almost a month in and still no coach, barely any players. They will have some serious catching up to do.

For those that thought Frazier should be kept it seems to me that Wilmoth fills that role if totally healthy. But the decision is obviously up to McNamara as to who stays or goes.

“McNamara said he began last Friday to officially search for players who might fit what he wants -- “toughness, talent, length, athleticism.” He plans to speak to the handful of players still on the Siena roster, he said.“

I would have liked Jordan Lee on our staff just in case because you never know with a first time D-1 coach? I like the McNamara choice but a backup plan wouldn't hurt! GO SAINTS!!

SIENA MENTIONED IN PHIL MUSHNICK'S COLUMN IN THE NY POST
Quote of the Week’s runaway winner is Siena president Chuck Seifert on the hiring of Syracuse assistant and ex-SU player Gerry McNamara as its new basketball coach.
Ready?
Here goes: see also Siena hires Gerry McNamara as coach Siena taps ex-Syracuse star Gerry McNamara as new basketball coach
“Gerry’s illustrious career and championship pedigree at Syracuse University, paired with his exceptional skills in mentoring young talent, align perfectly with the high expectations and storied tradition of Siena basketball.
“His appointment is not just about restoring championship success — a standard our fans rightly anticipate — but it also symbolizes Siena’s ascent in the broader collegiate landscape.”
Given that McNamara replaces Carmen Maciariello, a Siena alum who was fired after going 68-72, Seifert might’ve shortened McNamara’s welcome to, “Just win, baby.”

Besides “athleticism” and “length,” Gerry needs to prioritize “intelligence.” How many times have you seen guys dribbling into three guys, broadcasting their passes and taking wild shots. A guy without a good basketball IQ is pretty much worthless.
