This account is saying lead assistant. That correct goldsaint? Ben Lee looks like a great hire! A rising star that had the City Rocks connection at Washington too. I don’t know how accurate the lead assistant statement is though. Hopefully GS can answer that. I would be a little worried having a 27 year old as our lead guy. Ben was the 4th assistant on Washington’s staff this past year. I don’t know about assistant ranks lol - I do know he will be a very impactful recruiter for us. Beyond the Rocks - he spent time working with the people that run the entire Nike EYBL circuit. Super, super connected in recruiting.

Understatement: Lee was the Director of Marquee Hoops and Vice President of Events for MADE Hoops, industry leaders in grassroots basketball. 83 of the top 100 players in ESPN’s 2023 Recruiting Rankings are MADE Hoops Alumni.

Looks like he is in the right circles, but he would have to be the greatest salesman in college basketball to get a top 100 player to Siena, but I'm sure he is a good judge of talent and has familiarity with those top 100's teammates that are more likely open to MAAC level offers. That and he knows the top 100 4* guys out of HS and who end up being not working out at the P5 level and want to move down. Connections matter. He also has connections to Jim Hart's program.

He's a couple weeks behind if you assume recruiting only started when the portal opened. But yes, I agree we're fine. I'm just not expecting a massive season out the gate. He still only has one assistant so far, and hasn't even been introduced by the school officially. Yo u doing the Mets thing. Keep expectations low, but secretly think they going to be really good. So many teams have to start over year after year. He has plenty of time to put team together. Siena players entering portal early also helps I have no idea if they're going to be good. I like this hiring a lot more than I liked Carm's hiring, but he's still an unproven HC. I'm saying I'm not going to write him off if we have an Iona-esque year, like half of the Iona fans have done with Tobin Anderson.

This account is saying lead assistant. That correct goldsaint? Hornet’s Steve Clifford is available (as an assistant). 🙂

Are we throwing darts at a board here or is there a direct correlation to Gmaac and Siena?
It’s more helpful to see legit possible links & rumors.

I know i've been saying that there were people at the press conference that looked familiar so here is another, there was a man sitting directly in front of me who was bald and had a beard, woulda coulda been Nunez. Maybe some one who has access to the filmmight be able to find a frontal picture of the individual.

I would imagine Gmaac has a multitude of connections over his near 20 year affiliation with Syracuse. The Nunez link seems more credible based on a possible sighting at the presser. That’s basically what I was getting at, is there a potential link to the job or are we just tossing names about.
