I think Paulsen can hold out for at least an A-10 job. Siena is too much of a lateral move for him at this point. Agree. hoopdirt reported today Paulsen has been in contact with Marist. Apparently he doesn't see himself as highly as some of you.

Yeah not only Collins have the inside track. Jeff Capel is probably second. Paulsen is probably 3rd in line at best for that job. As for those of you that say Bucknell to Siena is a lateral move, I’d say any place that will double your salary is not a lateral move at all ( last public filing Paulsen made 170K) they did give him a small bump… to what maybe 200K ..so Siena from a salary POV would be a big jump Siena is on the hook to Mitch for about $275k next season. So I wouldn't go thinking they're gonna throw $400 - $500k at the new coach. Look for the new guy to start at $300, maybe $350 tops the first season. It would also foolish to assume Bucknell doesn't give Paulsen another bump now in an attempt to keep him. He'll approach $300k there. Didn't Iowa have to pay Siena money from taking Fran away? Good time to use it to sweeten the offer to the new guy and say bye bye to Mitch.

If by being in contact they mean Marist called him, I'm sure that conversation ended abruptly when the subject of money came up. Plus, Bucknell has a gorgeous new facility which makes McCann look even more like the glorified high school gym that it is by comparison. In no way is Marist a step up from Bucknell, except playing in a better league. So I just don't see that happening.

They actually said he and Brett Reed want out of the Patriot and are real candidates at Marist.

If Paulsen and Reed are legitimate candidates for the Marist job we shouldn't be messing around with Patsos.

I will say what I said on the Marist board. I have a better chance to grow 4 heads than Reed or Paulsen becoming next Marist coach. But from what I hear, and I won't share it, the pick could be mind blowing when analyzed correctly.

share it! share it! share it! I would if I could. I am too superstitious, and this guy is too good IMO to try to wreck that:). Trust me, if he is hired, you will remember this comment. And if he is hired, should be done within the next 7-10 days.

Apparently Paulsen has a good shot at Northwestern. Their president was his boss at Williams. Collins gets announced today at Northwestern. Gives us a better shot at Paulsen.

Are you kidding me- no expectations there—job is gravy. You can go 12-18 every year and make a million bucks a year- get one NCAA bid and they will name an arena after you
