No doubt! IS is the ultimate loyal fan. Always sees the positive, never the negative. Every program needs fans like that.

Strictly hypothetical: If he played in the last 3-4 regular season games and then 3 in the MAAC tourney (for less than 30% of games) would he be eligible for the red shirt or do the games played need to come PRIOR TO the season-ending injury to qualify for red shirt? (I’m not saying this is or should be considered, I’m just wondering what the rule is.)

I say he just practice and be ready form next year. I like that we got ply form 9 guys last game and if we stay healthy he has a good rotation. Maybe just play Javian more

(I’m not saying this is or should be considered, I’m just wondering what the rule is.) In 2018 there was an NCAA medical redshirt rule change. According to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance, Scott Young, “the NCAA has two requirements for a medical redshirt; the injury must have occurred in the first half of the season, and the athlete must have competed in less than 30 percent of the season. You must provide documentation of the injury, and it must be considered season-ending.”

Glad to see Taihland on the court with the guys. Good sign for seeing him in the rotation next year.

I also don’t see a knee brace or even a sleeve on it.

Since he hasn’t entered the portal (yet), I rewatched some of his highlight vids. This kid can flat out play. If he’s healthy and 100% (and has kissed and made up with Carm), he could be an ENORMOUS addition to the team next year. He looks like Colby but more athletic and multi-dimensional. I’m not saying that a kid that hasn’t played a single college game yet, coming off a serious injury and a year off will be better than our returning leading scorer…..but the potential sure seems to be there.

Pretty surprised he isnt in the portal yet. Will be interesting to see how this story plays out or if he is even healthy to ever contribute here. Seems about 50/50 at best we ever see him suit up.

Why would he enter the portal? He has absolutely no body of work and is coming off of and struggling with recovery from prior knee surgery. I would think his options are extremely limited. Best for him to make sure he’s as close to 100% as he can get, save his portal card and hopefully show he’s a player next year. He was supposedly a good one, I’m holding out hope he bounces back….

Kissed and made up with Carm? Are him and Carm having some sort of issue no one knows about?

Kissed and made up with Carm? Are him and Carm having some sort of issue no one knows about? Well, my understanding is that Tai showed up to campus with an injury/surgery that he never disclosed and Carm wasn’t too pleased. The fact that a few weeks ago, Carm didn’t know the status of Tai’s injury/recovery made it seem like he wasn’t keeping very close tabs on him. The rest is just pure speculation on my part. If I offered a kid a full ride to come play hoops for me and he accepted and then showed up injured and unable to play (and he hadn’t said a word to me about it), I’d be PISSED…so I’m kinda speculating based on all that that there may have been some issues in their relationship.
