Just imagine “if” he’s recovered enough to actually play this year.
He practices the next 2-4 weeks, then wham! Come mid February he starts to play, teams won’t know what to expect and we tear it up win wise from then on out.
We could surprise many by winning the MAAC Tournament.
Or, he boils still be able to RS if he still wants to play 4 full seasons.
Either way, things are looking up for Siena fans!!!

Why would this kid agree to play half a dozen games for his freshman year?
Odds he doesnt play this year: Even
Odds he ends up somewhere else next year: 2:1

Odds he doesnt play this year: Even Odds he ends up somewhere else next year: 2:1 I totally get that it would be in his best interest to sit out this season and still have four more. But if he’s itching to play and help this team this team to win games (and Championships) this season - who am I to say no or stand in his way? Will he play this season, I don’t know and don’t think he will. Just saying that if he’s ready and wants to play, why should we stop him? I can still hope/dream that players like him want to play now even if it’s not a full season to help us win. From everything I’ve heard he’s good and Siena’s lucky to have got him.

Not a good sign at all when the kid isn't even back from break and the coach doesn't even know if he's healthy. He should either be home on break cause he's clearly hurt and out for a while or back on campus rehabbing if he's that close to being ready to practice. That Tweet makes me far less optimistic we ever see him in a Siena uniform.

I don’t get any thought from that tweet that TO will not be a Saint after this season.

No, but having played enough sports in both high school and college it is pretty clear that this is far from a normal situation. This would be abnormal for a non-scholarship athlete, is really strange for a scholarship player to not be with his team and for his coach to not know if he is ready to practice yet.

His situation may be somewhat unique. Maybe his surgery and subsequent recovery program was completed partly at home, which I believe is Georgia. Sounds like he had a pretty involved issue. Let’s see what happens before we jump to conclusions. Best case scenario is that he’s able to start practicing, red shirts and is able (wants) to play here next year. I can’t see other programs getting involved coming off major surgery, with zero playing time under his belt at the D1 level. He was supposedly a good “get”. Hopefully we get to see for ourselves.

Coach was quoted in the paper before the Christmas break saying TO was going home to continue rehab/heal. We all knew he wasn’t coming back till most likely the beginning of the spring semester. Once he gets “cleared” to practice by Siena’s Dr/staff he’ll start practicing Nothing I e read gave me the impression that he’d leave Siena after this season. I’m still holding out hope he’ll be ready to play in another 2-4 weeks and you can always use a shooter like him (especially in z Platek’s absence). JMO Also, was it TO where one article indicated a player needed another MRI to see how the healing was going back on Oct or Nov? If it was that could explain why we haven’t heard more about his progress. Maybe they found something else needing attention or maybe it just confirmed where he was in the healing process. I just don’t see a need to bad mouth or even talk about players leaving when there’s been really no indication otherwise. JMO.

You’re correct you didn’t bash him. It’s my warped mind that read too much into it (plus reading others comments in the past about TO and other Siena players). I sort of took the statement that you could see him not being a Saint next year (along with others negative comments in general about the coaching staffs recruiting, play calling, etc..) as being a dig on TO for his recovery or lack thereof, the coaches for recruiting him and anyone else fans questioned, and that sort of stuff). Again, I apologize, you're just saying what you’re thinking. I just don’t take negativism or criticism of my favorite team even if it’s warranted. I still hope not only TO stays all four years playing but that he is ready to go within the next 2-4 weeks. I’m also not opposed to having him RS so he has 4 full years of playing time (as a Saint).

IndianSaint- . I appreciate your posts and am glad you use this forum to bring a little sorely needed positivity- and they help to balance out the doom and gloom crowd. Your optimism, unwavering loyalty and view of a glass half-filled is admirable and refreshing. You are a true fan who loves and has always been there for Siena bball. Let's go Saints!
