What is the latest on T Owens' status? I thought I read that he was practicing with the team in late November, but then someone said he was not at our games last weekend. I am really hoping that he can play this season, especially with Platek out, and would hate to have him leave for any reason.

Would only make sense. Carm’s done a great job recruiting true freshman. Hope to keep Billups and McCollum happy & at Siena for the foreseeable future. I have no doubt Owens is another nice get as well.
Owens McCollum Billups Rogers are a nice foundation to build on. Hope Carm gets an athletic uptempo big!

We really need a 6-7/8 kid with some Bounce who can rebound and block some Shots. Golson would have helped fill a gap

Obviously not up to me, but in my view, unless he’s able to get on the court by January AND Platek is NOT, I think that’s his best move. If he can play and Platek can’t, then I think it would be worth him playing.

The way college basketball is right now, I'd be very nervous about a kid from Georgia NOT playing his freshman year, especially if its on a losing team. IF he's homesick at all, and never stepped on the court, could be an easy decision to transfer closer to home with 4 years of eligibility.
5-10 years ago, a RS in this situation would make a lot of sense. Now? Not so sure.
Obviously its a moot point if he's physically incapable of playing this year.

I don’t know. SO many factors. If he’s homesick, he’s likely to go either way. Lots of kids don’t get homesick. In fact they’d rather get away for one reason or another. Maybe he’s developed some great relationships on the team and/or on campus? Maybe HE is the one that decided redshirting was his best option? Maybe he already has one foot out the door? No way to tell. I hope he does whatever is best for him and I hope whatever is best for him is also best for Siena.

It’s been almost a month since the last game. I wonder how Tai is doing and if any decisions have been made?

Are we ever going to get an honest situation update on this kid? It is 2022 afterall. I feel like we're all chasing the rabbit around the track and in a couple weeks we'll get the air let out of our sails with a "Owens is going to redshirt this year." (which i predicted in November)
Without Platek, and probably McCollum, we could use the extra body and his smooth jumper.

According to the Gazette article after the Fairfield game: Siena — already without Taihland Owens and Andrew Platek due to injuries — played Sunday without leading scorer Colby Rogers and Javian McCollum. Maciariello said both McCollum and Rogers “should both be good” for Siena’s next game, which is Friday at Marist.

I dont think we can count on him. Too young to have these problems. Hopefully he's getting good advice on whether to continue to put himself in harms way.

H.J. - Was McCollum’s injury officially deemed a concussion? I can’t remember - no pun intended - getting confirmation from Coach Belichick,,,,I mean Coach Carm.
