They didn't make a difference though as far as their team actually winning games. Pickett I know was told to show something at the higher level which is ridiculous but sure, he's doing that. So they all pretty much could have stayed here and accomplish much of the same things and more. As I stated in the op penn was the exception. Pickett has done a great job of proving that his halfcourt, pick and roll game can work effectively at the Big 10 level. Some NBA teams will be attracted to how well he plays in a half court set. His jumper isnt as good as it was at Siena. He needed to keep it at the 35-37% level. The league is also playing a lot more zone principals so his lack of foot speed wont be glaring. I think he needs to play another year at Penn State, and shoot 38%^ from 3, and at least 75% from the FT line, and lead them to a tourney. Might be a good guy to have at the end of your bench. Slim chance, but a better one then I honestly thought he'd ever have. I agree, the NBA, for the most part, if stocked with guys who can do everything Pickett can do but also have elite athleticism. There are exceptions and being a good "citizen" and willing to assume the role the coaches assign you also plays a factor in who sits at the end of the bench. Like all teams, the NBA teams even more so want to win and if somebody else gives them a better chance that is who they will go with. I hope he makes it.

not so much former players, but in the "former targets" of Siena category.........found it interesting that juco sharp shooter Tariq Silver had left Oregon St and is now on Austin Peay avg 10pts...............and just for HJ, big local kid from Guilderland now finishing up his career at Daemen (D2) at this point has scored over 2,800 pts and close to 1,500 rebs, likely a first team (or at least 2nd team) all-american.........not sure what happened to Bryan Griffin who we were also interested in, he is not on the Xavier roster..........

Pickett and Penn State lost a close one on the road to #20 Illinois last night.
18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for Jalen where he played all 40.
Recent article out in State College he said he is most likely going back for a 5th year, which is a change from what most believed his plan was at the time of his departure.

Maybe he comes back knowing he has a lot better chance of getting to the NCAA's. IF this team had Pickett right now, Id like our chances to beat Iona when it mattered. He made EVERYONE better.

The reason for him to come back is to try to increase this NBA stock for the 2023 draft.

As far as Pickett goes, if you can play and you’re a legit NBA talent I don’t care what program you play for you’ll be found!

Including the coaching staff. Just like any coach with A+ players. Isnt it funny how dumb Popovich got the minute he lost Duncan, Parker and Ginobilli.

I want kids whos goal is to win games for Siena, not worry about individual accomplishments. BTW, I got a newsflash for ya. It doesnt matter if you play D-3. IF you can play in the NBA, they'll find you. Once tryouts start they dont care if you're from Duke or Skidmore. Its all about being able to help an NBA team, or not.
