Too bad, I had him peged in as the next Tay Fischer! Only if he ends up playing for the Globetrotters! 890 Players in the transfer portal and growing. Insane and concerning. Will be interesting to see the impact on college basketball next season and beyond. verbalcommits.com/transfers/2021

These days it seems like it’s more about pulling for and following a uniform rather than a player / roster.

You can only move once so transfers then they’re in the position before the rule was passed - have to sitout. Then you try and get elite frosh and hope they do what the one and done do for the big boys play great before moving up. Only instead of going pro they’re going to the power 6.

College basketball as we knew it is gone. Now its filled with independent contractors that are allowed to change uniforms like a pair of socks.
Every kid is playing on a one year contract and is a free agent every March. Get used to seeing lots of different faces each and every year. The old days are gone. Start getting used to the new way.

Yup and plummeting graduation rates. And, eventually, fewer D1 teams giving scholarships. Tell me again how this helps the student athlete? And I know some are going to say that there should be fewer D1 schools. Ok, it’s arguable. What’s not arguable is that every school means 13 kids are getting free rides based on their basketball skills. Drop 50 schools and that’s 650 less scholarships. Personally I think we’ll see 100 to 150 schools on the outside. That’s thousands losing the opportunity to get a free education. Oh, but the 25 kids per year who end up in the NBA will still get what they want, so cool then.

Part of the Siena fan attraction for me is to watch the development of a player over their careers and one of the reasons I’m a season ticket holder ... there’s another Green & Gold team 5 minutes from my house not Division I but at least I’d recognize most of the players season to season

Maybe all these transfers makes the NCAA rethink the no sit rule?? that is very very likely, the rule was passed last season, which was a direct result of the covid pandemic................and since it is on the table again this year for a final vote because the covid crisis continued into the current season..............at this point, it is not a blanket rule change forever, but they could continue this trend or simply revert back to the traditional sit out a year rule (but leave it open to review individual circumstances where they could allow a player to play immediately if circumstances warranted it)....................

In light of Kings decision seems to me Justin Webster would be a great addition. Hope we’re reaching out.
