College basketball as we knew it is gone. Now its filled with independent contractors that are allowed to change uniforms like a pair of socks. Every kid is playing on a one year contract and is a free agent every March. Get used to seeing lots of different faces each and every year. The old days are gone. Start getting used to the new way. Yup and plummeting graduation rates. And, eventually, fewer D1 teams giving scholarships. Tell me again how this helps the student athlete? And I know some are going to say that there should be fewer D1 schools. Ok, it’s arguable. What’s not arguable is that every school means 13 kids are getting free rides based on their basketball skills. Drop 50 schools and that’s 650 less scholarships. Personally I think we’ll see 100 to 150 schools on the outside. That’s thousands losing the opportunity to get a free education. Oh, but the 25 kids per year who end up in the NBA will still get what they want, so cool then. If 50 teams dropped to d2, wouldn't they still get scholarships? And for all the complaining I still see the numbers are still rising, with 7 more pending over the next few years. I agree that the state of basketball is in disarray, but someone's making money.

I always rooted for Jordan and enjoyed his enthusiasm and he was a fun player to cheer for.

You know how everything changes day to day - maybe Rodger is joining the Saints as their new play by play guy? When announcers start changing from team to team, it is time for us to just follow grade school basketball and let it go!!

Few are given a full ride. They are allowed up to 10 scholarships but can break them up anyway they want. D1 is basically 1 kid/1 scholarship. D2 they have a fund they can break up any way they want. So, they could have 2 kids on full and everyone else on partial scholarship.
Much the same way they do in non revenue D 1 sports.

This is a very interesting landing spot for him. Not quite Cali. Interesting, going to a school most recently in a he news for firing their coach after he publicly supported his players for their stance against racism. If you don’t, follow@coachingchanges in Twitter. It is one of my favorite twitter accounts and they had lots to say on the matter.

The grass is always greener in Tennessee, or is it?😏
IDK I think when a lot of these kids look back at these portal moves it’ll be with a touch of regret.
Don’t get me wrong some make sense but 1,300? That’s far too many thinking they can make a better move, don’t see it!

The grass isn't always greener....
