THe Niles North team which Loyola beat 48-24 featured Aquan Smart, a 6'3 CG in whom we had some interest before he verballed to Maryland during the winter.

I don't understand why we don't play more teams from Indiana, N. Kentucky, So. Illinois. etc. It would help recruiting from that area and would lead to steady success for the future such as Vermont is enjoying. They have had solid contributors from the Evansville area for about six years now. What you get are solid well coached players who aren't necessarily showboaters who can fly through the air for crowd pleasing dunks. You do get people who play solid defense and can handle the ball. Bisping is a perfect example.

I'd take a teamful of the type of players that Fran gets at Iowa. Plenty of plus athletes with skills and high Basketball IQ all over. That said, unless someone on the staff has good recruiting ties to the midwest, I'd prefer they recruit where they have some "in's".
