Aidan Carpenter stays #21 in NERR in their update, passing Corey McKeithan (Rider) for highest-rated signee in the MAAC. Only other MM programs with top 25 signees are Dayton, George Mason, UMass, and Charlotte— 3 A10s and a CUSA.
I will be very surprised/disappointed if he's not an ROY contender.
People talk a lot about what losing Burns will do. People never talk about what gaining another guard like Carpenter will do.
Siena's ability to attack and finish will likely go UP next season, not down.
In the for what its worth category-- I'm told AC can really play
Matt Hein is getting almost 20 mpg this year. Think about the affect of those mins going to Carpenter.
Marshall/Paulicap/Agee/Traore/Woods/Eze graduate and perhaps even Scott and Marfo as well. Most of the MAAC's frontcourts will be resetting just as Siena's is. As long as the backcourt depth rocks like it should, I think we can find enough production at center to still be considered the favorites for next year.
With another guard and another good big, I think they're there. It's just, I'd like that big to be a good defensive guy...so that Siena's upside moves well into the top 100 teams nationally.
