I don’t want Darg here to be clear. I hope he’s phased out. My thought is if Darg goes down immediately here, we are now a program in shambles. No AD and no coach and not having an AD could impact our ability to hire a good coach. Retirement soon is fine. Thinking is why Hewitt has been in the mix. Temporary, permenant, AD coach? Who knows right now. I have been led to beli ve PH and wife have always liked the area. Could be wrong, someone can enlighten the rest of us. I don't think I would mind Paul being considered as an acting/permanent AD. Not so sure about him being the coach though.

Tobin Anderson should at least be interviewed. Why, never understood the love affair with this guy. I'd fire every single one of them and clean house.

Don't be surprised if a new coach is named very quickly - I'm guessing that Paul's visit was coincident with the decision to get rid of Oh-No (the new nickname for the previous So-so) and the start of a search. Beilein would not surprise me and would explain his turning the Foxes down as he may have been contacted by Paul early on re possible interest. Given the nature of the opening, the need for absolute silence has been paramount. Those wondering why things re our kids leaving have been so quiet may now understand. The team cannot be allowed to tread water while a prolonged search goes on - kids need direction and the mess needs sorting out to see who stays and who leaves. I would hope that one or more of the assistants (Abe is the most likely in my mind) might have told D'Argenio about the mistreatment of the manager long before the kid's attorney walks on campus... Abe might have some of his own stories to tell.

I could have asked you to post on my behalf pointing out how it wasn't my mistake, that someone made me confuse the two guys. You're pretty good at carrying water...

It's an important management/leadership quality. Well done. You certainly could have asked me to post on your behalf pointing out how it wasn't your mistake, but I couldn't have done that because it was your mistake. I don't have any problem expressing my opinion about something/someone when I feel it is warranted. Glad to do it, most especially when not having been asked by anyone to do it. If you see that as "carrying water" on someone's behalf, so be it. Not my intention. Just offering what I consider a fairer, more balanced assessment of John's situation than others on here have done. Don't want some facts to get lost in the process.

So the report is that Patsos is meeting the media Tomorrow afternoon, likely at his lawyers office. It’s clear this is going to be a fight and he’s daring Siena to fire him for cause. If Siena knew they could fire him for cause and win they’d have done it already.
Siena CANT get held hostage here. There’s literally no chance Patsos coaches another game here. Siena has to fire him for cause RIGHT now or right after he meets the press. From there, they can go and fight the money battle that they were going to have to fight anyway. The key is we have to get him out as head coach so we can move forward and make a new hire. Time is of the absolute essence with lots of recruiting to do.

That's the problem...if they had a case on 100% lockdown they would have fired him already for cause. They leaked the investigation to the media to get him to negotiate buy out and he just dug in. In other words he just called their bluff. I said earlier today we'll see where he positions his trench and if he digs in. Well he just did in calling their bluff if he goes through with that presser. It's on like Donkey Kong.

Yup I would hope he’d take one years pay (if that’s what they were offering) and go out with some dignity but JP is all about JP. I hope Siena has plenty of evidence and buries him. But that fight is for later. Siena should terminate him TONIGHT! Do not let it linger. Get your shit together! This program has enough issues they can’t get caught up in this and let it linger on through the spring. Late signing period starts next week!

The leaking of the fact of the investigation was never intended to bring Jimmy to the table. Keeping such a claim out of the media is what is talked about between the lawyers on why the parties, especially Jimmy, should come to a resolution. This leak could have only result: Jimmy has no option now not to fight as he has been ruined. I have to assume Jimmy wouldn't play ball on a resolution or was adamant the claims against him were untrue. Even if true, in whole or in part, Jimmy's ego is such that he wouldn't let him be sent out this way. Goldsaint 17 is right on. Siena has no choice now if Jimmy lawyers up and like his buddy Lonergan or Pitino, comes our swinging about how he is the victim. The time to get this settled will come up again but likely well down the road.

The key is that you fire him NOW. He’s not coaching another game at Siena regardless, whether we get stuck paying him the full buyout or get alway with nothing. That much was assured as soon as that info came out last night. Negotiations can happen later, but right now you have to fire him for cause and then deal with finalizing this later. Even if the investigation isn’t complete, you still pull the trigger.

I think they're better off to just let him go and pay him even now. Cut the cord. Siena could be digging themselves into a deeper hole. Now that this leaked, he can't come back. That would be tremendously awkward.
Pay the man and move on.
It's the Siena admin who have probably made more mistakes here. And that's saying something when their opponent is Jimmy.

Patsos has decided to fight which is his right but that will be litigated in the courts. I'm worried because Siena always seems to screw up these things. Terminate him now so we can start looking for our new coach and he can get a staff together and start recruiting. The late signing period starts next Wednesday (April 11) and the Siena banquet is April 18. Get a new coach in here within the next few weeks and let's go!
