Just being optimistic it takes to much energy thinking negative all the time.I understand what your saying and i agree with some of your opinions.I myself have plenty of doubts but just hoping that some real added pressure things will change. But shouldn't have gotten to this point either.Hope for the best expect the expected. it really doesn't because reality has set in.............

It’s comes easy actually, Rex gives me so much to work with.....finding something positive would take way too much energy and I don’t care to look that hard!

I’d like to be optimistic we need the likes of Welch badly but.... Welch appears to have higher offers and might have issues qualifying. If he does qualify I would expect him move up in conference class. Plus Patsos seldom lands any player when competitors are involved and it has to be widely known he has one foot out the door. This doesn’t give me very much confidence that we will improve our lot. In fact I suspect we get more kids with little to no interest that are low major level gets. Yes, I know...there are still a lot of 'ifs'. But...Welch is coming on official visit to us..tomorrow. And Malik has said he's going to visit this month too. Jimmy has a much better rate of landing guys who actually visit than when they don't...especially when Becker isn't involved. And he's certainly putting in the fullcourt press on these guys. JP/Siena is ALL IN on Welch............having his photo put in the TU, while mentioning the visit.................he is trying to show the kid that he thinks he is a "big deal"..........pretty smart, and also a desperate move to sway the kid.............let's see how this turns out............

Err. That would be against NCAA regulations. He can't talk about the kid. If Singelais throws his picture out there that's just him...but he pretty much does it with every Siena visitor.

I don’t think you keep a coach for one kid unless it’s a program changer even then you probably don’t do it. Will Welch even be eligible to play next year? Hope he commits and the next coach holds it.

I should have been more specific............that JP needs to corral a STUD recruiting class, it could possibly lend itself to buying another year for him..........Welch would be just a part of that............

some of you own your own business and or manage people. How many times have you had an employee who sloffed off and took advantage of the company? How many times did you implement some sort of performance improvement plan that resulted in a good outcome?
What you have here is an old dog and you want to teach him to be hungry out pounding the pavement for recruits etc. He has NEVER DONE this. He has NEVER been this guy. You need to get it through your sculls... you ARE NOT changing his ways long term.

Therein lies the rub, even if he pulls a rabbit out of his a$$ this cycle, I don’t trust him to 1 be able to repeat the process, 2 retain players he has recruited and 3 have the ability to effectively coach ‘um up! Almost a 15 year history with this guy, what you see is what you get ... expecting change is lunacy. I want to see a winning culture and consistency out of this program and unfortunately it isn’t happening under the current leadership.

Even if we finish OK and sign Welch - he is who he is. He's never going to get Siena to where we want the program to be. He has been given 5 years and has one regular season winning season and no NCAA/NIT trips. I'm all for whatever helps getting him out sooner or later. Worse thing is a very breaks go his way and he lingers like a black cloud over the program. End. It. NOW.

Actually NCAA recruiting regulation violations should come under 'just cause' for termination without having to pay any buyout.... That would work for me!

I'm watching a team i love watching every time they're on national tv i watch. There system how hard there players play and there bench.Always engaged in the game yelling out cutters just in the game period.Forget going to Boston Celtics practices I'm going to UCONN Women's practice.Everything they do has a purpose fast break out of bounds plays.Always looking to put pressure on you.UCONN WOMEN'S basketball best ran program in all sports. That's a model program

Chatman is probably a 3/4 rather than a 4/5 but I would take him in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, I think he will go Power Five. KS, what do you have for expectations of the program? Tony is being silent as well.............. My expectations for the program are nowhere close to being met. There should rarely, if ever, be a losing regular season. Top four in MAAC nine out of ten seasons, tourney semi-finals four out of five, final three out of four and champs half of the time we reach the final. Year-round coach who understand the importance of recruiting relative to vacations. Transfer rate lower than the national rate, with transfers generally going to better or equivalent programs rather than to NAIA or D2 schools. Coaching hires made by a basketball AD or a basketball committee, not by a Franciscan or his good soldier, with the focus on the up and coming coach rather than a retread. Having a coach who goes from Siena to a Power Five program or the Big East is better than having the next Dave Magarity. The schedule should be upgraded as the program improves. In a perfect world, find two majors who will play home and home so our fans are guaranteed to have one very attractive home game each year. If necessary, do a 2 for 1 or a couple of them balanced out with an annual home guarantee game or two. Play A10 and other quality mid-majors like Charleston, FGCU and Vermont. Drop Albany if Brown continues to insist on playing at SEFCU. Limit of two PL/Ivy/NE10 foes per season.

Spot on KS - totally balanced and reasonable expectations - we've been there before so we know it's possible - right now all we have is -$400+K and a dream - the lotto odds are better
