Can't see Pikiel having any interest as his program is going into the CAA. And why would Paulsen leave an elite academic institution, and nice league, to go to a troubled mid-major in the MAAC. Dream and hope but be realistic. We aren't a "good" job as the expectations are pretty high.

What if, just what if, Siena is already dipping their toe in the water and as some of you think there aren't any premium coaches that are going to leave their current jobs to come to Loudonville? Mitch may be here another year. Could you imagine?

Mitch may be here another year. Could you imagine? My suggestion would be to just drop the program rather than bring Mitch back for another year.

We have the most fans in the MAAC by far, have the best facilities on and off campus, and three prior coaches have gone on to success at high major jobs. Expectations are high, but any hungry coach worth having knows this and will accept the challenge. We will soon see how committed our own administration is to meet the stated goals, however.

With that being said, Pikiell is already up over $250k and they just began a $20 mil renovation to their facilities. He's not leaving for the mess at Siena.

What I don't want is Siena to have Cliff Warren as their first option - just because its EASY !!
If I'm Siena I do whatever it takes to get Paulsen and then move to Toole! The likes of Warren is dead last !

The job will be attractive, just to the right group of coaches. I just don't think it is realistic to think that any coach that has his program atop their conference is going to leave to fix this mess. Pikiell is at a large state school that just began a $20 million renovation to their facility. They're not losing their coach to Siena.

I would love to see Patsos! Lets see who gets fired from the BCS schools. There could be some big names available out there.

I can't do Patsos.
Exhibit A: During a particularly bad game, he went up in the stands and sat with his athletic director. During. A Game.
Exhibit B: The junk triangle and 2 he put on Stephen Curry. Curry stands in the corner and selflessly scores 0 points while 4 on 3 rips apart the Greyhounds in a humiliating defeat. Not because they lost, but because of the way they lost.
Both instances resulted in negative national publicity. You can say that was years ago, he has changed. But didn't we say that about Mitch Buonaguro too? No thanks.

For all of histrionics, and I disagreed with the two situations you referenced as well as his "over the top," "in your face" way of acting toward his players, he is both rationale and thoughtful in the post-game pressers. He would not be my first choice, but he is not a ridiculous name to bring up. He is also a coach who has had the ability to recruit transfers successfully.

I like Jimmy--he seems like an Al McGuire-type man of the people. Just don't think he'd go over well with his in-game behavior. That said, if he's the only choice it's "Welcome to Loudonville, Jimmy!"
