Quinnipiac just ate a year of Tom Moore's contract at $500k for next season.
They are now willing to pay in the $800k range for his replacement targeting Will Brown and Mark Schmidt.
It is sad that Siena's admin was unwilling to do the same. Their lack of commitment to the basketball program is quite evident.

Yes most would like that, but to be fair to the school, it has been said they are financially challenged presently ( do not know the particulars) so buyout for JP is probrably down the road. Brown goes to Q, JP stays another 2 losses for the school

Siena wouldn't give Fran 800K...lol No but he was making around 600K after he won two NCAA tournament games . Quinnipiac isn't too business smart either if you pay a coach that and it doesn't work out... you can get a good coach without dishing out that kind of money.

That's a joke for a MAAC school. Bonaventure guy should be all over that.

It is sad that Siena's admin was unwilling to do the same. Their lack of commitment to the basketball program is quite evident. Not sure you have much of an argument when you say that there is a ".....lack of commitment to the basketball program" on the part of the school's administrators. What's the annual budget for the men's program compared to other MAAC schools? Seems like a pretty substantial commitment to me? And the school is in the middle of a $12+ million dollar upgrade to its athletics facilities, driven almost entirely by a desire/need to remain competitive with its D-1 men's basketball program. And the head coach's compensation package is substantial as well. For a liberal arts college with a student base of around 3,100, I think Siena's leaders have made, and continue to make, a serious financial commitment to the basketball program.

Quinnipiac puts more money into basketball than Siena and has a much higher enrollment. They are the overlords now.
They are most likely to pass us for that long coveted A-10 spot...should they get on a roll.

Quinny must be rolling in dough . . . 3 campuses . . . has law school, opened medical school in 2013 and school of engineering in 2016 . . . 7000 undergrads and 3000 grad students.

I agree, often to the point that maybe the commitment is too big for the size of the school and it's academic footprint (lack of development of Master's Programs). But I believe it is the one of the best things that happens in the Capital District Sports scene when the program is firing on all cylinders.

Success is never guaranteed at any price; but when there is a clear and consistent past performance record only a fool ignores it.

I wonder if anyone here has learned their lesson? Doubtful, but I wonder.
