I think the 3 assistants at Siena split up $200K. That's a joke for a program everyone thinks should be top 3 every year. I think the Grasso kid makes more than that by himself.

Siena is no doubt cheap. But didn't Mitch make 100K as Fran's top assistant especially the last few years (of him being top assistant)

Jimmy needs to go but Siena does not need to drop 800k to get a good coach.
Siena will be good again it will take a rough year because jimmy is still here but then a rebuild can begin.
Quinnipiac will always just be Quinnipiac but with an 800k coach.

As long as the AD can't be quoted as saying "I'll take Will Brown for $800,000 Alex", the program my be okay.

Quinny must be rolling in dough . . . 3 campuses . . . has law school, opened medical school in 2013 and school of engineering in 2016 . . . 7000 undergrads and 3000 grad students. You would think. As a local I can attest they are having financial problems. They expanded the campus, upgraded facilities, bought a med school, moved the law school and then the 2008 crash happened. All said, KK is right they will soon surpass us and join the A-10. Their President is incredible and will overcome these problems. He has big goals for the school and his near 30 year reign has given this formally sleepy suburban school D-1 play, a law school, med school and national attention with their political polls. Siena looks clueless in comparison to Quinnipiac's long term planning and vision.

I have no idea how financially strapped Siena is but it sure seems like adding a grad school would be the best longterm move they could make.

Beautiful facilities, great campus and a very poor fan turnout. They have to do a lot better with their fan base to look more attractive than our program. Their hockey team may be a big plus nationally but I think they have a long ways to go getting a broad fan base developed for their MBB team.

Does it matter if fans turnout at Quinny if the moola machine is running overtime? Siena needs fannies in the seats to pay the bills. The MAAC should have done a better job with their due diligence before allowing a school to join that could bury the rest of the conference in dead presidents. Maybe the plan was to have Quinny and Monmouth start a "keeping up with the Jonses" spending spree for on campus Basketball facilities. Dropping the figure of 800K for a MAAC hoops coach, is the reality bus unloading in Loudonville or is it a ploy by Quinny to establish the fact the they have the cash to move up in conference and aren't afraid to spend it? Either way 800k is a nice salary.
