What did Washington have tonight-- or the 3 games vs Siena-- Didn't he avg like 15 and 6 against rest of the MAAC? Strange how the one team he couldn't score on was Siena? Roundtree is a solid player--Iona resurgent defense is fueled by their guards with relentless pressure on ball and double teams- our guard were unable to feed the ball down low to Brett or JO- both of whom had postion a lot tonight Washington only played 6 minutes....and that hurt us because it gave Roundtree more minutes. you might have a point-- he didn't get a chance to turn the ball over 5 or 6 times against us

Hated to lose tonight, but I have to tip my hat to the Gaels, great game by them. Disappointed in tonight's turnout, wish there were more there in green and gold to support these kids. They sure deserved that.
I am reading all the comments from several about glad that English and Williams graduate, never have to play them again, etc. Whoa! I disagree!! What do we all want for Siena? To recruit higher level players and compete at a higher and higher level. If Siena had won today and Monday, you don't go to the dance without facing players of the talent level of English and Williams. You don't go to the A-10 as many on this board wish for without facing that high level of talent.
Our goal: support Siena and hope they continue to do well and climb with their RPI, their competition, and their talent level. You don't get better by playing the Bryants of the world. You get better by playing AJ English, Isiah Williams, and those level players.
Play champs, not chumps! Siena made several steps forward this season. We still have many unaccomplished goals, but that is the challenge and the reward of sports. Already can't wait for next season, but I have some serious golf to play first!
Lastly, my thanks to all the Saints for their efforts and work this season. It sure has been a fun one to be a Siena fan.

From what I've heard, the MAAC helped underwrite the cost of much of the CBI Tourney costs 2 years ago so Siena squeaked out a small profit. This year the MAAC had no money budgeted for these type of tournament's so if Siena wants to play in the 2 pay to play tournaments they would have to underwrite the whole cost and that, IMO, would be very unlikely.

Well going on the road the payout is much smaller plus Siena is not a "bubble" team they had a really good year. Those tournaments need teams - I'm sure they'll negotiate to get into one of them. Two years ago we were 15-17 and pretty much had to take whatever we got and pay for it.

Lastly, my thanks to all the Saints for their efforts and work this season. It sure has been a fun one to be a Siena fan. It's more a reaction to just how much English has killed us, especially in the MAAC tourney. He's almost single handedly ended our season the past two years. Iona has been our kryptonite. It's kind of a catch 22 with recruiting. The best way to recruit at a higher level is making the NCAA tournament and getting that exposure. Obviously you want to play and beat the best, we just weren't there from a talent level this year to do it consistently (although very close), especially once Quis went down. Also tougher to recruit when you have some sort of academic standards, unlike certain other MAAC programs. I have a lot of hope for next year, but this was a good season. It's nice to have a team that's fun to watch again.

Iona was much better than us tonight. Defensively, their zone and pressure on our guards caused us to struggle to run our offense and resulted in too much dribbling to try to avoid the pressure. The way we struggle against a zone defense, we won't see any man-to-man defense against us next year unless we figure out how to attack the zone defense. Offensively they had too many weapons and when they got open looks they knocked them down, unlike us. I thought Nico played terrific tonight. To give him the assignment to try to shut down the best player in the league(which he did for 25 minutes) and get significant contributions from him offensively as a freshman really speaks to the rare talent he is. He may very well be our AJ English for the next 3 years. Lavon played terrific tonight and seems to save his best for the MAAC tournaments. If he brings that intensity and commitment to every game next year and works on developing his right hand, he could be a beast next year. Brett and JO had great years and if they get stronger over the next year, will control the paint. Marquis had a rough return from a bad injury but we saw what he was capable of when fully healthy and I fully expect to see that next year. To the players and coaches- thank you so much for bringing the excitement back to our basketball program. I haven't been this excited about what the future holds for the program in a very long time and next year in mid March I fully expect to be flying somewhere to watch our team do what we do in the Big Dance- win!

We are who I though we were: Third best team in the MAAC. Monmouth and Iona are just more talented basketball teams. All in all decent year. Maybe if Wright stays healthy we contend. We were playing our best ball during the UA SB Hofstra run. Post injury Wright wasn't the same player.
Attendance: The bloom is long off the rose, six yr absence from post season has been a killer. 5700 last night was poor and the < 7k Sat was disappointing as well. Even regular season attendence is usually less than announced (#s boosted by season tix). Tix prices too high for some, TV coverage, less front runners, combo of all above?
NCAA: Loser tonight is probably NIT bound. I doubt Monmouth gets an at large with a loss. MAAC conf RPI 20. Couple of bad losses. The UCLA and Georgetown wins although solid are not looking as strong now as they did earlier. Just don't see an at large but I guess strangler things have happened.
Next Yr: Big expectations next year. Weak schedule and a senior heavy team. Nico Wormley a yr under their belts. JP under the gun to get us to the post season.

You have to finish the season first or second in order to win the tournament. Next season that should be the goal.

Wishful thinking so his kid can play more Wrong on soooo many levels. Ok MP who's wrong and why. I commented on another poster who questioned TH comments regarding NICO. TH gave no specifics as far as the poster stated and I will not even try run down NICO, who Is a good kid as semesters run kids and coach down all the time. TH is extraordinary as a local color commentator, knows BB and is fair and impartial so not sure why he is throwing something of this nature out, just to see, of it sticks. Use the analogy of postseason, the broadcast crew says one thing other media outlets state the opposite. I like most posters state what we feel and comment on what is in reports. Most don't pretend to have the ear of the school and those that do are at times fed disinformation, not their fault. in conclusion if TH has definite info on NICO leaving state it, don't just put it out there it's a disservice to the player coach and school. Since no other info is stated by the poster I can make the conclusion because guess who his kid is playing behind. Btw if you have further information, that can help alleviate the stress that the statement causes fans please elaborate.
