I see that you conveniently waited until they lost 4 out of 5 to post your retort, with two of them being in OT and another by a 3 pointer. Nonetheless, I stand by my post. They will EASILY achieve 7-11, not a doubt in my mind. With 7-11 they will be in the NIT. 8-10 would be my guess, and 9-9 is still a possibility. Actually, I forgot about this thread for awhile. Of you look back to the beginning of it, I clearly stated they wouldn't go 8-10. My numbers never changed. I'm not like some members here who change their opinion and hope nobody notices.

Iowa will easily get an nit bid if they finish at least 8-10 in conference. Iowa won't go 8-10 in the Big 10.. Ok, here you go gorvy, I said it January 11. So don't try to make it sound new.

He won't reach the final 4 ala Hewitt with Ga. Tech. Also won't get the 1 and done players Paul got. I can forsee him reaching the elite 8 at some point.

Big win for Fran and Iowa this afternoon.
Got blitzed out of the gate and was down 21-5 7 minutes into the game. From that point on it was all Iowa. Final was 72-51. They needed and still need more quality wins to get on the NCAA bubble.
17-9 6-7 right now. Real chance to go 4-1 down the stretch and be 21-10 10-8 heading into Big Ten Tourney. Still don't know if that would be enough, their SOS and RPI will still be rather weak for an at large.

It would depend how they do in the big ten tourney. The committee likes teams that do well down the stretch.

"Carver-Hawkeye Arena was sold out for just the third time this season after Iowa beat Northwestern and Penn State to keep afloat in the brutal Big Ten."

Okay, I was wrong. Iowa got 8 Big 10 wins. They will be a good NIT team.

Actually, they'll get to 9-9 by throttling Nebraska at home later this week. 9-9, lost 5 conference games when they held the lead at the under 4 media timeout and lost 6 league games by 4 points or less - they win 2 games in the B1G tournament and they'll get in the NCAAT. They're a 12 or 13 win B1G team in a 9-9 outfit.

Actually, they have no shot at the NCAA tourney unless they win the Big Ten tourney.

Iowa makes an appearance in Lunardi's "Next Four Out".
They're the 6th team out according to him.
Last Four In
Kentucky Boise State La Salle Tennessee
First Four Out
Virginia Baylor Ole Miss Southern Miss
Next Four Out
Alabama Iowa Maryland Arizona State
Win 2 games in the Big Ten Tournament and hope for some upsets of those teams ahead and they might sneak in.
