-Just because we don't agree on this doesn't make me dislike anyone here any more or less. -everything you stated was cuts to the middle class and poor. You simply can't do what you've stated without prying money out of corporations and the ultra wealthy... which won't be happening any time soon. Now... you may be stating your end game expectations but as I said. With our system funneling wealth to a select few at a disgusting and unsustainable rate it is simply impossible to start hacking and slashing the programs you mentioned. And do you know where all that money cut from government spending will end up? Right in the pockets of that wealthy group... Because that is how our system is setup. I admit it - I dislike people who think they can tell me what I believe, who I am and what my motivations are - you pretty much did all of those things. P - did you ever take any American history, free market economics, public administration classes? Because your second bullet screams liberal talking points and is almost wholly misinformed. In fact your first item in the second bullet is almost completely off the mark - the cuts in the federal government would impact EVERYONE. Yes it is true to varying degrees but again I point you to something Thomas Sowell wrote: I fail to see why it is greed for me to want to keep my money yet it is not greed for others to want to take it. And my point to that is that if the system is designed to funnel money to a select few and you are one of those few ... are you really justified in claiming that it is your money.

It really is no use CellarRat. Both sides heals are dug in. Unfortunately the "whats in it for me crowd" is getting larger with handouts from the administration. We are literally going to hell in a hand basket. I find it quite funny that libs say they want to help people but need the govt to intervene to decide who should be helped. If I am donating my hard earned money I would personally like it to go to whom I choose. Now for some I am a hater with this mindset. Funny thing is the libs in charge don't like this idea because they know their bread is buttered by quite a few hard working conservatives who would never ever ever agree with funding their agenda, so they get us to donate through taxes.............
I don't mind paying for services the govt supplies, but, I'm sure most programs could be run much more efficiently. With some cost saving measures on the administrative end, reduction of the public workforce in certain areas and beefing up in others, a more aggressive eye on the distribution of our hard earned money, taxes could probably be lowered and services to those in need remain the same.......... Worth a try? No?
I do have to say with the unraveling of Obamacare if the rest of the govt is run as inefficiently it is of grave concern.......... I only hope we can get back on track before it is too late.

Time lines are set on a political agenda, often not based on any form of reality. Again, politicians dictate this from both sides. I developed software in both the public and private sector... and both for governmental use. In the private sector, government asked us how long. We developed a plan and let them know how long it would take. In the public sector, a politician tells us when their political calendar needs it. . Regardless of it being realistic or not

I've obviously left this conversation due to the rhetoric that is for the most part verbatim from the national level on down. But when the tea party comes up. .. I definitely agree that this is walking a precarious cliff edge but.... I also believe the tea party is one of the worst things to ever happen to our political system.
