UA plays a home game tonight, and I was hoping it was on TW-50, but they're showing Ohio vs. Kent St. instead at 7pm?? Someone please explain this to me. Makes zero sense. Don't they WANT people watching their channel and subsequently their commercials? Who the hell will watch Ohio/Kent St? Maybe they thought it was Ohio st vs. Kentucky?

I am at the game it is was like a funeral in here. Minimal student showing. For a big student population and on campus arena, really is sad to see.

Students are at home...not until January 22 will they be back. There was a great crowd on Saturday, yeah we don't draw like Siena...but we'd be second in the MAAC. It takes time and some decent opponents not to mention sustained success. Moving to a better conference wouldn't hurt...

UA has a lot of potential, a lot more than Siena will ever have given the student population and number of graduates. Additionally, the capital region folks who want a team to support that represents the region, would seem to more easily identify with UA than Siena. Why they are not more successful boggles the mind. I guess the generic nature of the school hurts them more than it helps. The fact that Siena is so small and yet gets so much support is incredible but at the same time nerve racking because it can seem a bit precarious. Who knows, Siena is definitely a special place, I really can't say that about UA, but again, I think they have more potential, at least on paper.

What is the percentage of commuter compared to kids that live on campus? If you don't know, no big deal, just curious. ps--there was no students at the Siena game Monday either! lol

I'd have to imaging playing in one of the absolute worst D1 conferences has to hurt attendance. Magically moving to the CAA for football did wonders for attendance there plus a new venue. No one is dying to see us kick the shit out of Hartford.

Siena has a history of success and a 30 year head start on UA in D1. That counts for something...for decades Siena was the only show in town. It's simply...you win people will come, you don't they won't. Being in a conference normally in the teens help...as opposed to one consistently (lately) challenging the 30 spot. That's why I was disappointed that UA apparently declined the CAA invite...we'll see if it gets revisited this spring. There are various theories as to why they declined.

Hopefully they make the move in the future. Having two programs in higher ranking conferences would be great for the programs and the capital region, not to mention the rivalry. And frankly, if and when Siena loses to UA again, the loss will be less embarrassing. I'm a Siena grad and fan, but I want to see UA do well, I think it actually helps the region and both schools. That said, I hope we kick your ass from now to eternity in a televised game in a packed Tuc arena.

Several reasons why UA didn’t make move- not the least of which is cost- UA putting a lot of money into football, and these are not the best of times tax wise . A move to CAA would have resulted in at least a million dollar increase for men’s BB and several million for entire athletic dept. If the CAA expands again and more northern schools are involved. I can certainly see UA eventually making the move to CAA

One massive state school, the other a fairly cozy private school, both with either historic or recent basketball succcess. I have no problem with UA raising their basketball profile, it makes the Albany Cup that much more exciting. I pull for UA in every game but one.
