They shot 27% partly because Siena did a great job of protecting the rim. They made Rider a one dimensional team and forced them to take low percentage jump shots. Sure Rider missed some open looks and FT's but that's the nature of mid major basketball. I guess we will agree to disagree. Did not turn Rider into a one dimensional team. That is who they are. They take close to 20 threes a game and 33% of their fg attempts for the season are three pt attempts. they also shoot 74% from the ft line even after tonights game. OK - Give them the 74%. They would be 20-27 from the line and get 6 more points. We still win by 9 (not taking into consideration the strange court that might naturally keep them under their avg). I'm just asking why are you discounting the defensive effort and just saying Rider had an off night? They weren't perfect but let's give these guys credit - we got a win against an undefeated MAAC team.

It was acombination of Rider shooting poorly and defense. And I do not see how the fouling situation is any better. once again 2o fouls and I believe when players are playing with 3 an 4 fouls they back off on the defensive end trying not to foul out. this conversation started over the defense of the big lineup, and in my opinion as well as some others on this board, that lineup is going to struggle defensively against some of the smaller quick MAAC teams.

Yep that's what you say. Not what is happening right now though. I see the home court steak continuing. Patsos will continue to play the line-up that brings wins

Sorry but when you have two guys in the top 20 in the nation of a negative stat category it is a problem. There is a reason why the team is 6-9 and not say 9-6. Good win tonight though. Keep it rolling at home. Its the new rules...Patsos is a defensive coach and his teams play hard...fouling is up across the nation...there is a reason we just held a team 30+ points below their average. I see improvements in the fouling and we won this game because of them..it will take time but we are headed in the right direction for sure...[/quote Agreed - Appears to be going in the right direction. That Monmouth game has to convince me a little more, but the fouls are trending downward so I think we will get there. Looking to see a good effort on the road to really convince me. I hear you...that is the youth taking over on the road and the slightest interruption can throw everything out of wack...the change in time and last minute change in lineup knocked us off our flow and we did not recover well...It will be up and down on the road right now but I believe that too shall pass It is partly the new rules-- and we are not playing by them. We will be a below .500 program until we do. Rather than make excuses I think Patsos will continue to work on this major issue. Great effort tonight though. Winning at home is a key ingredient to future success.

You dont prove you can shoot when Lavon and Brett have 8 - 3 point field goals combined after 15 games. Listen we dont need to go down this road- Brett had a good night shooting the ball tonight's- props to him. Then dont go down there...you prove it in practice. Patsos said after the game Brett can really shoot it..case closed What's he going to say, "He CAN'T shoot" after he goes 3-3? lol Numbers don't lie. He was shooting 20% (2-10) coming into tonight, now he's shooting 39% (5-13) after a career high night. Let's see how it pans out before we say definitively say he's a real 3-pt threat. ps--none of the 3's were contested. After tonights game tape makes the rounds, he won't be getting all those easy looks he got tonight.

You can have your opinions. .fact is we started off with this lineup. .Poole at the 2 and Lavon at the 3... things changed when Wright took over the starting pg spot and Hymes went to the 2...Now we have Poole back at the 2 with Lavon at the 3 and Hymes coming off the bench...Lavon was always supposed to play some 4 when we go small but never the 5..Carry on I am done...Great win! Who cares who plays the 3 or 4? We've been running a 4 guard offense all year anyways Imoh took away the paint from Rider early in the game. They were afraid to go inside against our man-to-man after he blocked/challenged every shot in the paint. He had a great defensive effort. Our zone made them settle for jumpers, and good for us they were ice cold all night. I've never seen a kid dominate a game like Wright does and only score 5 points. I hope you guys appreciate him. He's bigtime.
