The Siena player Lavon is most often compared to is Alex Franklin. Lavon is actually slightly bigger and probably more versatile. And in 1 game, Lavon has more 3's than Alex had in his career.

Lavon is Lavon-- he is taller than Franklin or Haddix, more athletic than Haddix, not as athletic as Franklin and at this point in his career not as strong as Alex was. Lavon handles the ball as well as Alex did . In the end Lavon is Lavon, he is match up nightmare and I hope Jimmy gets him more touches in the half court

I'm just glad (and I'm sure PPC is) that it appears Lavon will be allowed to use his versatility, which guys like Alex and Scoop Jordan really weren't allowed to do. A 6'5" or 6'6" guy being stuck within 8 feet of the basket their entire career doesn't develop as they should.

Lavon will be a terrific player, let his career unfold ............................but let's not too carried away with comparisons to Alex Franklin,, all-time Siena great...............who in his first college game dropped a double-double on Stanford, while Ubiles ended up scoring ZERO..........just sayin'!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lavon sure has great potential and hopefully we can see him grow over the next 4 years. I think he had a terrific first game, he was smart on defense and did not get into foul trouble. He does need to get the ball more......... BUT PLEASE, it is way too early to compare him to Alex. Alex, the Plastic Man had FIRE AND DESIRE. When he went to the hoop his first thought was Dunk. Height, weight, wingspan are 1% of the equation. Let's enjoy the ride with Lavon and if we ever get another Kenny, Alex, Eddie and Ron on the same team (not to mention Tay and Ryan)...... well, I almost think that is too much to hope for, but I will. This freshman class just might do it.
I will be at Vermont tomorrow. 40 among 2500. But I expect I will be loud, not as loud as Henry or Lavons connections, but I think we will let these Maple Syrup suckers know that they may not want Siena back in a year or 2.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some of you act like Kenny and the Big 3 were Jordan, Kobe, Lebron, and Shaq. They were great Siena players but if Siena can't get more like them, forget about ever trying to go to the A-10.

by the way upstate73, where is upstate? if you are so far upstate it should be easy for you to get to Burlington and still get home in time for work the next day, and even, maybe, write some more extremely thoughtful and intelligent posts. See you in Burlington. How will I recognize you? I have some ideas but I cant post them.

Upstate, according to google maps, is 2 hours and 15 minutes south of Burlington, which doesn't really matter because I work out of state most of the time and am not in the area. If you are really interested, maybe we will meet later in the year at the TUC.

The Big 3 were great players no question about that..what made it unique was getting them all in one class (Kenny and Rossiter being the other main pieces one ahead of them and one behind them). That said I don't think Siena's ever had a "once in a lifetime" player i.e. Curry at Davidson or David Robinson at Navy. I hope someday soon we will see a once in a generation type player at Siena who is an NBA first round pick and with good pieces around him takes us to a sweet 16 or beyond - we're due for one.
